It would still be a tie. Elvis moved ahead with A Little Less Conversation in 2002.

Elvis would be on 18 and the Beatles would have tied with Elvis if they got #1 on Friday and the 2005 #1s weren’t counted as separate releases

Wow, that's an excellent start for the Beatles. This has exceeded all my expectations with it's streaming performance, if this had a Friday release, I'd be sure it would happen but as it is, it's still encouraging.
I can’t see The Beatles losing it now - they’ll still have plenty of pure sales to come and a reasonable number of streams
Yeah I think The Beatles have #1 all but wrapped up now, they can't be far off already having enough sales to stay there even if they didn't move any more units the entire week. I think the only way they lose it now is if something really unexpected happens to bring up a new contender.
I can't see the beatles losing the number 1 now plus fans will support as much as possible niw that it could go number 1, the press will probably Hype the number 1 potential aswell.
Different legacy acts getting a #1 singles every year since 2021 would be a fantastic feat (Elton John & Wham!, Kate Bush & probably The Beatles - You could also include 2020 e.g. Mariah Carey & Michael Ball)! I really hope the Beatles hold on!
Last week the #2-#5 did ~53k on the Monday update. So The Beatles have done at least 30k? Really interested in Monday's update! I'm guessing they'll be on 50k+?

Will they go one better this year?

Will sales be anywhere near 120,000?

They only lost 6,000 sales (and whatever they would've streamed on Thursday afternoon/evening) from releasing that day early though. I can't see that being the difference.

If they're outselling the rest of the top 5 I really can't see any way of them losing it now. History will be made on Friday!
If the news keep reporting on this, it might encourage more people to stream and download the track
I suppose the saving grace of cruel summer is it didn't block a 3rd track like it did for speak now tv week

They've probably done already more than Prada did last week so they're certain to be #1

thanks to the physicals as predicted/expected

but think all the physicals are sold out so won't add more?

so with streams only and big declining I cannot see them doing more than 60k

We haven’t had a #1 over 60k for 16 weeks so even that would be great.

I guess if they’ve already done enough to be #1 this week they should hold off re-stocking the physicals so that they help next week’s position.

The vinyls appear to be sold out but the CD is still available.

Someone at the record company got their sums wrong.

It’s not over yet. Jung Kook has just released 7 remixes all selling at 59p, and they are all in iTunes top 20.

He desperately wants to be no. 1.

A few hundred more downloads isn’t going to get Jung Kook anywhere near #1, though it will help him to hold on in the top 5.
