November 16, 20231 yr Intrigued to know what this project is now there's such a big list of names collated! Wardy mentioned it in his opening post! What they achieved in their career, however short or long, will be told in the form of a playlist I am working on to capture as many names as possible, no limits to the numbers.
November 16, 20231 yr Presumably the playlist will be entitled ‘people who were dead influential’ I shouldn't have laughed
November 16, 20231 yr Thanks to seeing him in Gezza's thread, not sure if he's been mentioned yet.. Gene Pitney!
November 22, 20231 yr of those not yet mentioned: Ryuichi Sakamoto </3 sadly lost earlier this year Andrew Weatherall (influential DJ but could use/cite his remixes of Primal Scream for Screamadelica like “Loaded”) Loleatta Holloway - I mean, for “Love Sensation” ALONE Diane Charlemagne - Manchester vocalist on 90s classics “Inner City Life” (DnB) and “The Key: The Secret” MF DOOM - iconic rapper/producer Tony Allen - one of greatest ever drummers, was in The Good, the Bad & the Queen - so maybe “Herculean” from them? I was gonna say Carol Kaye too, but thankfully she's still alive!
November 25, 20231 yr Darryl Pandy (singer of the first house song in the UK charts, 'Love Can't Turn Around' by Farley Jackmaster Funk)
November 29, 20231 yr by "fallen" you mean dead? or no longer relevant? Nobody seems to die these days! They all seem to "pass away" or "leave us". Or we "lose them". Apparently it's so as not to upset the bereaved. Personally I think it's a load of bollocks. Edited November 29, 20231 yr by Shaky Fan
