November 27, 20232 yr Take That have released an album? Missed that, but brilliant sales for them! Edited November 27, 20232 yr by Sour Candy
November 27, 20232 yr Amazing for Take That but sales must be awful #2 and down if Taylor is number 2 on a few physicals and a couple of days streaming.
November 27, 20232 yr From the OCC Take That already claim the biggest first-week sales for a British act in 2023 with their new album This Life. The start of a new era for Gary Barlow, Howard Donald and Mark Owen, Take That’s Americana-inspired ninth studio album is blowing away the competition, already accumulating a total of 103,000 chart units at the midweek mark. This would mark Take That’s ninth UK Number 1 album, the group having previously reached the summit with Everything Changes (1993), Nobody Else (1995), Greatest Hits (1996), Beautiful World (2006), The Circus (2008), Progress (2010), III (2014) and Odyssey (2018). We should be so lucky! Celebrating 35 years since the start of her music career with a remastered edition of her first album, Australian pop princess Kylie Minogue is looking at a Number 3 re-entry for her 1987 debut Kylie. The album peaked at Number 1 for six non-consecutive weeks upon its original release. The most wonderful time of the year is right around the corner, and as such Michael Bublé’s festive chart staple Christmas is expected to make a re-entry into the Top 10 this week (4). The 1975 are also looking for a Top 5 debut on their new live album At Their Very Best – Live from Madison Square Garden (5) taken from the tour of their most recent album, Being Funny in a Foreign Language, which became the fifth consecutive Number 1 studio LP for Matty Healy and co. Following her death earlier this year, the late, great Tina Turner could have a posthumous greatest hits collection, Queen of Rock’n’Roll (6) enter the Top 10. It would be the 10th career Top 10 album for the icon. Scottish indie band the Trashcan Sinatras are on their way to a landmark entry on the Official Albums Chart. Their 1990 debut album Cake has been remastered and reissued, and is currently expected to re-enter the chart at Number 10. It would mark the band’s first Top 40 entry ever.
November 27, 20232 yr Blimey, you can never count out Take That. It's a decent album though, much better than the last two for me. I bought two copies, one for me and one for a present. Clearly there was some pent up demand six years since the last album (which also opened with over 100k).
November 27, 20232 yr Wasn't sure if TT would manage to top 100k again this era, fair play to them already managing it! Could well beat the opening sales of their last album (debuted at #2 behind Ed Sheeran but with 113.2k sales).
November 27, 20232 yr Seriously impressed with Take Thats sales as i had thought they would only manage about half what they have already for the week, id like if it could beat wonderlands sales, they havnt got all out on multi format either so if they had they could have even more serious numbers. 100k in this day and age is great and its another Gold certification for them. The album also makes it 4 decades in a row they have had a number 1 album. Kylie far higher than i expected aswell, i know it wont hold up but its off to a great start. I hope Tina Turner can also stay top 10 this week. Edited November 27, 20232 yr by Padamic Tension
November 27, 20232 yr I knew Take That would get big sales, but I wasn't expecting that big as this release feels so muted and it's been a very long time since their last material which was poorly received. Like gooddelta said, you really can never count them out!
November 27, 20232 yr Seriously impressed with Take Thats sales, they havnt got all out on multi format either so if they had they could have even more serious numbers. I've found that there's at least 10 formats. Granted it's not Kylie levels of formats, but it's still quite a lot: 1. Vinyl - Black 2. Vinyl - Cream 3. CD - Standard 4. CD - Standard - Amazon Exclusive Slipcase, with alternative artwork, signed 5. CD - HMV Exclusive, with bonus track 6. CD - Book 7. CD - Magazine 8. Cassette - Gary 9. Cassette - Howard 10. Cassette - Mark (Some are available with signed art cards)

November 27, 20232 yr Wasn’t expecting Take That to sell over 100k but I’m pleased. With few other big releases coming up, clearly this could do quite well over Christmas period. Edited November 27, 20232 yr by neill2407
November 27, 20232 yr Wow thought the days of TT breaking 100k with their new albums would be over after the muted response to the last album and thought this one would do 60k for the week so fair play to them for such big opening sales had to double take at the figure!
November 27, 20232 yr Not sure why Ocean Alley don't seem to have got a reset though (surely they did have way more than a 25% stream increase last week).
November 27, 20232 yr Take That!!! What on actual earth! Really good album but very middle of the road.
November 27, 20232 yr I just hope that Lovin on Me doesn’t wind up becoming this years Xmas #1 I know; Stick Season is more seasonal as a Christmas #1.
