I think it would’ve done a lot better if it was released a year or so later, Taylor wasn’t at her full power in 2019

 

I think it's more there's always other taylor ,

 

2019 she released too late to make major playlist, plus she didn't really promote it

2020 she released Evermore just as it was peaking

2021 red tv was still huge and the focus was on all too well

2022, midnight's was still huge

2023 1989TV is still huge as is cruel summer

 

 

Plus I think we have a different demographic to normal Spotify etc users when it comes to Christmas music ,

Christmas music and its impact is dependent on playlisting. More so than a traditional release (where a song can level out with good hype but little to no playlist support). 'Christmas Tree Farm' likely won't start getting higher in the charts unless/until it is moved up to a more promising position on the main Christmas playlists.

If that Songer thing is kept out of the chart by Christmas songs this week but then debuts next week, we'll be up to 4 calendar years in a row having a new hit titled 'Toxic' :magic: (albeit technically that not being the full title this time). I see this one actually is a Britney sample this time unlike Digga D, BoyWithUke and Nines/Bad Boy Chiller Crew.

If they had the ability to do this to secure the Christmas #1 and didn't then why would they do it this week xx

Yeah it's not a big scam it's just the dire state of how things actually work these days especially when it comes to the December charts.

 

But given the next tracking week is usually the peak of the Alexa songs and there was only a 6k gap this week, i'd say Sam's in with a decent shot at #1.

I’m not sure as Spotify and Apple probably won’t playlist it as it has been an Amazon exclusive and Amazon probably won’t push it as much as irs no longer an exclusive to them. It will probably get good radio airplay though

Agreed. There seems to be more discussion around this track, no doubt helped by the promotion Sam has done and publicity from the Xmas number one race.

 

Playlisting will be an issue, but has been given to previous Amazon exclusives before (not prominent placing mind).

 

Seeing Kiss Me It’s Christmas turn up is a pleasant surprise! Only seen it on one Spotify Christmas playlist so didn’t have any expectations for it this year. Hopefully can scrape another week in the chart.
