I would love if 'bye' could hold on as the 3rd charting track (or 'eternal sunshine') but feel like it will probably comfortably be 'the boy is mine' by the end of the week.

Gonna do a quick ranking now I've heard the album a few times (not including the interludes):

That top 3 is CRAZY GOOD! I enjoy the middle lot a lot. The bottom 3 are a bit boring to me, but I don't dislike them.

It’s an incredibly strong album... it’s instant love for me :wub:

 

Supernatural sounds like it has single potential to me, I keep returning to it. I’m excited to hear the Troye version :o

This album has really blown me away tbh. I loved 'yes, and?' but I stupidly underestimated how good the album was actually going to be. This is probably Ari's heaviest and best album lyrically, everything really feels like it comes from her heart. This might even be my favourite Ari album to date already :o (will have to give another listen to 'Thank U, Next' to compare). My current favs would be 'bye', 'don't wanna break up again', 'eternal sunshine', 'we can't be friends (wait for your love)' and 'imperfect for you'. The only song that I'm not really feeling right now is 'i wish i hated you' but I don't think it's a bad song at all.

Edit: On 2nd listen, 'i wish i hated you' is great :lol:

‘supernatural’ and ‘i wish i hated you’ have really hit me this morning :wub: I’m liking the Troye remix of the former too, his voice blends in nicely. The latter has revealed itself to me so much… her voice sounds so emotional on the second chorus :cry:

The chokehold this album has on me right now.

 

It’s been while since I have loved an entire pop album without any notes.

Ariana and Troye are just such a great duo! Troye makes absolutely perfect sense for a collab on ‘supernatural’! It works a million times better than the Mariah remix of ‘yes, and?’ does!

'bye' is #11 in the First Look chart, shall be interesting to see if that remains her 3rd charting song or if 'the boy is mine' overtakes

Not that 'Moulin Rouge' sketch actually getting me HYPED to see her in 'Wicked'! MY GOD! HER VOICE AND ACTING HAS BEEN IMPROVED (SOMEHOW???!) TENFOLD!

Just listened for the first time and wow, this album is lush :wub: it's not in your face for the most part, but that's the beauty of it, so many subtle nuances in the vocals and production that make the entire thing shine. we can't be friends is so so good!! bye, eternal sunshine and supernatural are my other faves on first listen but there wasn't anything I didn't enjoy. Think it's her best album since Dangerous Woman!

'we can't be friends (wait for your love) should overtake 'yes, and' and hopefully get a top 5 debut. I still think 'the boy is mine' will overtake 'bye' by Friday.

Pitchfork gave 7.2 - they will never give over 8 for a POP album so that is good.

People put WAYYY too much weight into any reviewers tbh, but especially Pitchfork :puke:

The more I think about, the more I think that run right from (and including ‘eternal sunshine’ right through to (and including) ‘we can’t be friends’ is absolutely INSANE and one of the strongest consecutive run of songs on an album I’ve heard in a while!

 

Edit: it’s also incredibly refreshing that it’s the middle section of the album! It is what makes it work as an album! The opening 3 tracks and ending three tracks being the bun but the middle is where all the goodness is!! *.*

Had a quick look at Spotify and it seems that several album tracks are on the rise, really happy that this album is connecting with many. It's definitely top 3 in her discography for me already.
