February 18, 20241 yr Beyoncé and Dua top 2 for Friday please *_* Don't think Dua will remain at #1 unless they do a big discount on physicals.
February 18, 20241 yr Beyoncé and Dua top 2 for Friday please *_* Don't think Dua will remain at #1 unless they do a big discount on physicals. :magic: I hope her label reads this lol but even if she does that I still don't think it will give her #1...Beyonce just keeps growing as she's all over Tik Tok right now!!!
February 18, 20241 yr If it's an artificial no.1 (ie, induced by ACR) then it's a fake no.1 no matter who the artist is. It'll be interesting to see whether that is the case. The no.1 may need to exceed 70,000 to be genuine... I don't think there's any debate that Noah would still be #1 if not on ACR, he's still miles ahead on streaming!
February 18, 20241 yr the Dua physicals are already heavily discounted, there's a bundle that's super cheap with the 3 formats I knew she was gonna do well on physicals cos of that
February 18, 20241 yr Beyoncé and Dua top 2 for Friday please *_* Don't think Dua will remain at #1 unless they do a big discount on physicals. I don’t think they can discount them anymore they are basically giving them away as it is - the bundle of 7” vinyl, CD and cassette is £6.98
February 18, 20241 yr I think they're referring to shipping prices for Dua which are still high. Her previous singles had free shipping.
February 18, 20241 yr How is dua ahead when Beyoncé has much better digital sales and streams? This doesn't include all streaming, so Beyoncé might be ahead in tomorrow's update.
February 18, 20241 yr That’s so disappointing, Beyoncé really deserves her first #1 in 14 years and I hope she gets it
February 18, 20241 yr That’s so disappointing, Beyoncé really deserves her first #1 in 14 years and I hope she gets it I still believe she's gonna get it. I downloaded the song to ensure it.
February 18, 20241 yr Didn't the likes of Ed and Lewis do 99p free shipping CDs? Dua could try that to get even more pushed.
February 18, 20241 yr I’ll be very surprised if Dua holds in the Top 2 even and absolutely stunned if she holds onto #1 with that streaming deficit - she’d need Capaldi level physical sales.
February 18, 20241 yr 'Greedy' feels like it's massively outstayed its welcome by this point, really hope 'Alibi' can knock it out of the top 10 by Friday!
February 18, 20241 yr Unless there's a lot of physicals not to be counted could see dua lipa debuting top 5 if she only 3k ahead so far still not a bad debut
February 19, 20241 yr Didn't the likes of Ed and Lewis do 99p free shipping CDs? Dua could try that to get even more pushed. Houdini was free P&P I was going to buy this one but the £3.49 P&P put me off Edited February 19, 20241 yr by AcerBen
February 19, 20241 yr OCC update confirming Beyoncé now ahead by “fewer than 1.5k”(which I assume means approximately 1.5k): “It's all change in the race for this week's Official Number 1 single, as Beyoncé edges ahead of Dua Lipa in today's update (February 19). While Dua previously led the charge with her brand-new release Training Season, Beyoncé's TEXAS HOLD 'EM now edges ahead and tracks for Number 1; though there's still all to play for. Fewer than 1500 UK chart units currently separate Dua's Houdini follow-up from Bey's first taste of her upcoming RENAISSANCE Act II album. TEXAS HOLD 'EM, which was released alongside 16 CARRIAGES following its premiere in a Verizon Super Bowl LVIII advertisement, debuted at Number 9 on last week's Official Singles Chart. In doing so, it became the pop icon's 22nd solo UK Top 10 hit. Beyoncé boasts a further 12 Top 10 singles as a member of Destiny's Child, including chart-toppers Independent Women, Pt. 1 (2000) and Survivor (2001). Should Training Season hold on to its predicted Number 2 position, it'll become Dua's 15th UK Top 10 single to date. Her last release, 2023's Houdini, debuted and peaked at Number 2, while Jack Harlow's Lovin On Me took the top spot. Elsewhere in today's update, Washington-born breakout star Benson Boone looks set to stay strong at Number 3 with Beautiful Things, while Teddy Swims' Lose Control also looks to hold on to last week's Number 4 placing. Meanwhile, Noah Kahan's Stick Season could fall four to Number 5, following its seven-week stint at the summit.”
