March 6, 20242 yr Hopefully Alibi is comfortably ahead of #11 and it finally gets top 10 status. Poor Olly. Dizzy could be so much better though. The chorus is amazing but the verses don’t do it for me. Hopefully his ESC performance will set the song alight. Hoping it can at least debut in the top 40.

March 6, 20242 yr I think dizzy will do similar to I wrote a song. Top 40 debut, peak top 10 after Eurovision and collapse away quickly. It’s a decent song but really nothing special tbh

March 6, 20242 yr Great to see RAYE in there - and still expecting a reset for ‘Escapism’ - but the mystery is exactly where it will land in the chart! I still think Jungle will do well enough to earn a reset, but whether it is actually given that reset or not, I don’t know. Massive fall for Olly! That makes me think that there was more data missing than usual on Monday. I was really surprised by how small the initial drop was between Sunday and Monday. He will struggle now to beat Mae Muller’s number 30 debut. Personally I thought ‘I Wrote A Song’ was a great, original song. I do like ‘Dizzy’, but it is quite generic. I actually like the production, I just feel this song is meaningless and goes nowhere.

March 6, 20242 yr Olly has ant and dec this weekend to keep him in the top 40 but the song is very mid it’s just your run of the mill Eurovision song I can’t really see it ever doing decent streaming numbers

Id say most of its sales/streams came from friday and sat and very little since and prob not much else for the week. It’s back in the iTunes Top 5 as a result of the 59p reduction so hopefully that’s enough to keep it Top 40.

The post I replied to didn't mention physicals, although even then they only make a difference for 1 week. I'd say the vast majority of music videos and remixes have pretty negligible impact on chart success (obviously with exceptions), it's certainly not to the point where I'd consider it notable to point out a song doing well without them.
