March 5, 20241 yr Congrats to our hosts for not only a truly fabulous and innovative hosting job but also winning with their stolen entry :P But seriously the hosting was so smooth and the level of effort put into this is truely phenomenal. Ich Kündige is my favourite winner in a very very very long time. My most played song of the year thus far and it isn’t even close. Was very hard to work out how to score it, the UMK tracks, and The Veronica’s - all of whom I already knew and loved. In the end I decided to slot them in around a few of the best discoveries that I made this month 15th is a great result for Rd‘Á, so thank you to all of our supporters this month! Saw a couple of 18s in the mix as well so a special thank you to those beautiful people and the others who loved our entry enough to medal it. The Áskorzjan delegation is already making the necessary arrangements to extend their stay should the host nation wish to go again!! (and we would also understand if they were a little cash strapped after this extravaganza and needed to pair it back a little for the next go around)
March 5, 20241 yr Just catching up with this as I wasn’t able to follow the thread last night. Huge huge congratulations Jack on back to back wins :cheeseblock: honestly the hosting was absolutely amazing and it’s great to see you put so much time and effort into the whole contest! I did enjoy your entry and it’s a well deserved winner, so happy for you! Looking forward to the next contest already, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my stay in Sovarasma :yahoo:
March 5, 20241 yr Congratulations uhsting, I sort of called that, it's such an arresting track that you can't ignore it and I very much enjoyed having it worm around my head over the course of the contest (to the extent that I dreamed that Mori released a new song but it was just her doing a version of Ich Kündige :S). Looking forward to seeing what you can do the next time but there was so much good effort this time and it was such a stunning set of hosting that I would understand if you needed to cut it back or do a break - in any case, thank you for a wonderful contest. Thank you very much to all the voters for 'Call Me Shadow' though, I'm floored to have another top 10 that no one seemed to be predicting - very pleased as it means I'm doing something right with my strategy, collecting a really nice bunch of high points all over. Really good results on the whole though Suedeonia is far too low, that was a really compelling indie hit for me.
March 5, 20241 yr Wow(wwwwww), super happy with a 4th place to match my previous record! Big thank you to any voters but especially gold voters (Summericia and Oslol), silver (Hendinia and Bronzil) and bronze (Taahino and Sovarasma). Loving a lot of that top end of the scoreboard, especially an absolute stomper yet again from Sovarasma! Congrats on the second win, highly deserved for both the song and the incredible hosting - I can only imagine how much work this must've taken. Amazing attention to detail throughout. Results-wise, New Lexico, Ben's Sanctuary and Persephonia are far too low for my liking but it's been a great contest! Thanks and congrats uhsting ^_^
March 5, 20241 yr Well done again uhsting :D and this time I gave you a few points so am on board with this winner! Not a great top 10 on the whole however, only voted for 3 other songs and 2 of those were with mealworm points. Happy to achieve my annual top 10 finish early on in the year this time so a little pressure off for the remainder. Especially considering it was only 14th in the semi :o Thanks to those who enjoyed it as much as I did and a bit of redemption there for Louisahhh. Not very often all 3 of my medal positions finish in a underwhelming place. Really expected Cor Lupus to be pushing for top 10 and POPhub to be much higher. But a JOKE that Rolloland were last, that has to go down as one of the best last placers I can ever care to remember, definitely better than one of my own even (RUN) although wouldn't quite rank it ahead of Can't Hold Back The Rain (still not over that even though that was during the #tranceflops era) I can only echo the unanimous consensus of how well run and presented this contest was, more of the same in 163?
March 5, 20241 yr Thanks to Uhsting/Jack for an amazing job hosting, and all the effort and work put in. Totally understand if you need a break from it following a fabulous double win! Well done! If you do host hopefully you can re-use much of the graphics and stuff (not that I know much about that!). Big thanks to all our voters supporting The Human League, Sound Of The Crowd a bit forgotten these days despite coming from Dare, the entire album is top notch. Not at all surprised we were again on the cusp of qualifying in our semi, it's a regular spot on which side of the dividing line we fall depending on Luck Of The Semi Draw, and also not surprised it did better in the final than it looked it might do in the semi. It only takes a few people to absolutely love a track to make a difference, so big thanks to Gold standard bearers Rollo, WoW, and Martin for 18's! Also Math for the Bronze, and Jade, Jake, Jim, and the non-"J" *dandy for the double-digit points, among many others! It's our 2nd 16th slot, so close to a new position! As far as the top 20 goes we have yet to crack numbers 1, 2, 4, 8, 10, 13, 14, 15 and 17 but we've had 3 of each of 5 and 7 and 2 of 11, 16 and 20. Spoilt for choice for the next contest I think....
March 5, 20241 yr Thanks for the amazing hosting Jack! Would love to have done better but long may this Q streak last :cheer:
March 5, 20241 yr I suppose it could only be the host nation taking the crown as a reward for this effort! Congrats uhsting, wasn't a big favourite like last month, but it was pleasingly quirky and like something I'd enjoy on the Eurovision final. Well done on an incredibly hosted contest both technically and creatively, I can't think how long this all took but it was one of the best I've ever seen. Certainly looking forward to more though please please don't feel as pressured to follow this up. I need to know you're sleeping  I didn't dislike any of the top 5, but none I really loved, all of 6th-10th however are amazing and deserved for them all, Eastovka, Seyetana and Trifoski were massive highlights in particular. Shame both long songs didn't get near the top 10, but respectable positions for them both. Really pleased with just about staying top 20, way beyond what I expected for this. I heard it on (where else) 6Music during the Cloudbusting mix and it's a beautiful, dreamy shoegaze track that deserved way higher than its #67 peak, many thanks for the voters, hopefully a great introduction/reintroduction <3 Now to wonder what to do with this new longest ever Q streak for next month
March 5, 20241 yr Very pleased with 18th, helped by a Farc 18 which I would not have expected at all (and of course Terra's). That alone bumped me 12 places. Also delighted that my own 18 came 8th!!
March 5, 20241 yr Can CONFIRM that we have found a host for BJSC 163, so the turnaround may be pretty quick - but who is it? You may well find out within the next ~24 hours x
March 5, 20241 yr It would be hilarious to go from this epic to a Glasgow Wonka inspired cheap show with a flavoured jelly bean each. Qualifiers get an Oompa Loompa and DNQs get the masked thing
March 5, 20241 yr It would be hilarious to go from this epic to a Glasgow Wonka inspired cheap show with a flavoured jelly bean each. Qualifiers get an Oompa Loompa and DNQs get the masked thingwasn’t that the concept for the Harmonica contest back in January?
March 5, 20241 yr Congrats Jack :cheer: 'Ich Kündige' was a very memorable entry for me, majorly for its quirkiness! A great winner tho. Like the others, I'm also so thankful for the insane level of effort, creativity and love that has gone into the presentation of this contest, thank you  26th is a solid finish for Abeltesfayeton in this contest! I was kinda misled by a couple of top 10 predictions but nevermind, there's always next time :D Thanks for voting for us! Pretty happy to see Aeroche in the top 3 as well as Séyetana, Kathaladazia, Eastovka, Dobago (You ranked 16th for me) and Trifoski in the top 10!
March 5, 20241 yr wasn’t that the concept for the Harmonica contest back in January? So impactful that its existence is already forgotten *.*
March 5, 20241 yr Wow, congrats uhsting on the double win :o I didn't quite point yours this time, following 18 for Fat Dog, but did appreciate the 'terms & conditions' lyrics tbh. I must echo the praise regarding the hosting job - your enthusiasm has been infectious and the effort is so impressive. I will certainly not be mad if you decide to take it on again, although I do hope to be part of the final next time :kink: Chuffed that Kathaldazia finished in the top 10
March 5, 20241 yr A great winner and a fantastic host. Congrats uhsting for 2 in a row! For myself i‘m happy that I had two songs back to back in the final. Let‘s go for 3 in a row. :D
