March 22, 20242 yr Happy for Ariana to climb to 2. One of her strongest songs for sure and would be nice if it can get there still but nonetheless 2 is still fab for it. Happy Benson is number one though. ^_^
March 22, 20242 yr So cool to see Benson have his first #01 ! Deserved ! It's a smash hit everywhere. His new single is so catchy too. Hope he's going to have a second hit right there.
March 22, 20242 yr I haven’t been this unenthused about both the chart itself and most of the music charting in it for a while. :(

March 22, 20242 yr Happy there’s a bit of turnover at the top! Good that Benson grabbed #1 with an obviously huge hit in the UK but hoping Ariana can grab at least a week soon!
March 22, 20242 yr great day for boring music by shouty men (yes lewis capaldi is to blame for this x)

March 22, 20242 yr New peaks and new entries outside the top 40: 50. Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike - Thank You (Not So Bad) (+18)Honestly, this will be a terrible news for both EDM and trance scene when this enters the top 40 sometimes in the next couple of weeks.
March 22, 20242 yr Crikey.. first time I've tuned into the chart in about 12 months and I enjoyed almost every song in the top 20. And Jack has really grown into the role too, bless him trying to make the chart sound as exciting as he can. Best presenter in many years I'd say. Edited March 22, 20242 yr by AcerBen

And Jack has really grown into the role too, bless him trying to make the chart sound as exciting as he can. Best presenter in many years I'd say. I said something similar but lack of internet on the train killed my comment. Really enjoying chart music at present. Great to hear ‘songs’ in the chart.
March 22, 20242 yr Author I must also say I've been enjoying 2024's chart music so far too. Great new music doing well, some old favourites resurfacing, it's been pretty enjoyable for the most part. 2023 on the other hand wasn't my favourite year for chart music so the last few months have felt somewhat refreshing. I'm still not wild on Jack as a host but I appreciate that he invests in the show and shows a lot of enthusiasm.
March 22, 20242 yr Honestly, this will be a terrible news for both EDM and trance scene when this enters the top 40 sometimes in the next couple of weeks. I still want it to make top 40 but it just really makes me wish David Guetta and Morten ft Lanie Gardner - Dreams would have been a hit. It was a better dance cover of a classic song.
March 22, 20242 yr 2024 music is really interesting - especially this explosion in folk/country/indie music and what is especially refreshing is that despite majority of these artists being from the US we aren't slavishly following US trends. Examples are how UK put 'Stick Season' as a multi week no.1 where it has only just made the US top 10. Dasha and Michael Macargi are top 20 here have only peaked at 74 and 67 there so far (Macargi's video is even set in London) On the other hand their biggest star the awful Morgan Wallen whose 'Last Night' was 2023's biggest hit by miles in the US didn't make EOY top 100 here and he has had loads of other massive hits lasting ages there which haven't charted in the UK Edited March 22, 20242 yr by Smint
March 22, 20242 yr although, Morgan Wallen could very well get a big UK hit soon enough as he's supposedly guesting on a forthcoming country/folk Post Malone single
March 22, 20242 yr Bar Last Night (which obviously was fairly big here), I think Morgan’s usual stuff is a bit *too* redneck country to properly break through here. He has a big fanbase though, headlining BST Hyde Park this summer. Dasha, Michael Mcarcgi, Noah Kahan, etc all lean more into country-pop and folk.
March 22, 20242 yr I don’t know where to ask this but did benson perform on the one show or did they change it because of Kate Middleton news
March 22, 20242 yr Author I don’t know where to ask this but did benson perform on the one show or did they change it because of Kate Middleton news I've not caught up on it yet but according to Twitter, yes he did!
March 22, 20242 yr I don’t know where to ask this but did benson perform on the one show or did they change it because of Kate Middleton news Channel 5 news was extended, but I believe that’s the only tv schedule change that was made:
