April 18, 20241 yr Day 18: I've always felt this song has such a sad story about growing up and finding things don't go the way you imagined, but it's a great tune! qJS3xnD7Mus
April 18, 20241 yr 'Up The Junction' and 'Disco 2000' two of my favourites, both great shouts! Did anyone think Kenny Rogers was Paul Hollywood for a second in that video preview?
April 18, 20241 yr Day 18: How is there no video for this Christmas classic by The Waitresses, because there's definitely one in my head that fits the lyrics. Have always liked the storytelling in this, as many Christmas songs are just 'yay, it's Christmas' but this unravels a full romantic comedy in its five minutes. 0BIBvul7_jg
April 18, 20241 yr April 18th – A song you like that tells a story So I immediately thought Springsteen, Shangri-Las, MacGowan, Cash and a few others but they're all pretty obvious and pretty well known, so in the end I plumped for this New Wave gem about teenage suicide that seems to have been largely forgotten. qEkyGu7ZiXw

April 18, 20241 yr DAY 18 - A song that tells a story KXBI2_zH9Js Has to be this... I've entered it to a Hallowe'en BJSC spin off before because of the loose theme but it's one of the few songs I know that tells a complete story - and it's an odd one about an archaeologist/museum curator and the discovery of a cursed mummy - which is used as a means to tell a story about a more general theme of when someone kindly uses their energy to help out another person and builds them back up, just to find that the other person doesn't appreciate it and is happy to just drain the other (if that makes sense? I suspect most of us will know the type of people haha). It probably is an acquired taste but I think it's a really lovely song.
April 18, 20241 yr Looking forward to seeing what the challenger comes up with for his challenge today. ;) Will be late as I’m in the office today! Also don’t know if the song I had planned for this has been used already!
April 18, 20241 yr Day 18 - Great idea and some great shouts so far (Stairway to Heaven didn't even occur to me ), Several I could go for but I'll choose this strange yet captivating and interpretative tale influenced by Nordic folk, I much prefer it to the song most people would know the act for. mCHUw7ACS8o
