June 19, 20241 yr Yep, he should definitely Stop before he gives away anything else! EDIT: Oops I see dandy* already beat me to it! Sorry! 2 became 1 :(

June 19, 20241 yr Bellefire! Perfect Bliss is a tune tbf. Love the one song I've heard from the Scorpions - it might be Wind of Change? Shocked Frankie Goes To Hollywood is a new entry. :o
June 19, 20241 yr Quite a few good ones in there! I love Scorpions ‘Send Me An Angel’. I’m surprised Frankie are so low!!! And my favourite Nick Cave hit must be ‘Where The Wild Roses Grow’ but I guess that was not with the Bad Seeds
June 19, 20241 yr Some bands I'd have expected to pick up more votes there. 'Two Tribes' and 'Relax' are great tunes from Frankie. Scorpions another great band that didn't think of. 'Winds of Change' is an epic track but 'Rock You Like A Hurricane' and 'Send Me An Angel' are also good. Like one or two songs from Kasabian (Surprised they didn't pick up more here tbh :o ), Wings (MOK a classic. Don't know much else), Bellefire ('Perfect Bliss' but again don't know much else) and 'Chase The Sun' is a decent dance track too. Oops Roxy Music I forgot could be my next possible one out as I was expecting one or two others to vote for but I do like a lot of their stuff!
June 19, 20241 yr Frankie Goes To Hollywood were on my shortlist but they only released two albums. Good to see Wings and Roxy Music picking up a few points.
June 19, 20241 yr 'House of the Rising Sun' is within my top 5 singles of the 60s but don't know more than a handful of other Animals songs. I watched the entirety of Peaky Blinders last year which exposed me to more Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, as they're peppered throughout the soundtrack on top of 'Red Right Hand', great stuff. 'Relax' and 'Two Tribes' by Frankie Goes to Hollywood are both excellent but haven't heard either of their albums. I picked up We Are the Pipettes one year for Record Store Day, love 'Pull Shapes' especially.

June 19, 20241 yr I did consider giving points to Scorpions and Glass Animals as both have good songs but I didn't know enough of them to justify pointing them!
June 19, 20241 yr Love the little I know of Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, amazing storytelling and great, epic sounds. The Mercy Seat is particularly great and I'm really liking their material this year.
June 19, 20241 yr Had to include a vote for the band behind my most played song in 2021 and third most in 2022 - 'Heat Waves' aside, 'Life Itself' is great and 'A Tear In Space (Airlock)' is my pick of their new songs so far. I voted for Nick Cave in the male artists rate, but that was entirely for his output as Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, so it's great to see them here too - their album The Boatman's Call and its opening track 'Into My Arms' are among my all-time favourite albums and singles respectively
June 19, 20241 yr The Nick Cave song you mention was indeed with the Bad Seeds (and Kylie) No idea why Polyhex says it isn't The Official Charts does likewise, but I’ve checked out the album cover and single cover and they both clearly mention the Bad Seeds. Therefore it was easily the band’s biggest hit (though I know that sadly Polyhex is our Bible). However, it may have been the only Kylie single that I didn’t buy until ‘Wow’.
June 19, 20241 yr Didn’t even think of Nick Cave, glad Severin did as they’re definitely worth inclusion
June 19, 20241 yr Had to include a vote for the band behind my most played song in 2021 and third most in 2022 - 'Heat Waves' I think we've found the culprit for it never bloody leaving the charts 😅
June 19, 20241 yr I'll be amazed if my +6 doesn't appear in the 6 pointer category being revealed next (if it doesn't, someone else has great taste)
June 19, 20241 yr Sorry! 2 became 1 :( You really fancy yourself as a Wannabe comedian don't you  Anyway some decent bands amongst those that went out today. 'Wind Of Change' is a classic from Scorpions and 'Where The Wild Roses Grow' is surely Nick Cave's finest moment (as well as one of Kylie's). I'm surprised Frankie Goes To Hollywood didn't get more votes, what with being one of the defining 80s bands. They were absolutely huge for a couple of years and achieved that rare feat at the time of having their first three singles all go to #1.

Most are with Birthday Party, the Bad Seeds, Grinderman or Warren Ellis. Glad to see them getting some love on here though
