Very cool! :D I did make a huge mistake, though. One that I've never done before ever since I joined, I think, and that's forgetting to vote for a country I was meaning to vote for. I really enjoyed Kathaldazia's entry this time and was planning on sending at least 12 points their way, so that was a huge error on my part. I'm so sorry!

August 9, 2024Aug 9 Author I feel like that's a larger group of countries that have qualified in every contest of the year than usual! 12 countries with 100% qualification rates. I could be wrong and maybe that's normal.

August 9, 2024Aug 9 Gracias Jim for the full update x Not me falling 6 places out of the top 20 even with a qualifier, gonna need some decent results on the back end of the year. (I feel like I remember posting the final EOY for last year somewhere but maybe I'm imagining that - cool to have it here for anyone (if not everyone) who's not seen it yet anyway. I have a long term plan to eventually make a collation thread with all of the historical YTD/EOY lists, stay tuned for it dropping in 2034) Had a quick check and at the same stage last year there were only 9 countries with a 6 for 6 qualification record so indeed a bit of an improvement from last year at least. (Although to Dobbo's point, there was an average of 12 DNQs per semi for the first 6 contests last year vs. an average of 9.83 DNQs per semi so far this year).
August 14, 2024Aug 14 Belated congrats to Blacksquare! Great to see both a first time winner and finally another one I voted for after King of the Slugs all the way back in January, and a few other good songs from my votes in the top 10, shame Bronzil wasn't there though as that was a massive highlight. I don't recall seeing the 2023 EOY before so that's cool, I think that's a new peak for me which is what I'm aiming for, albeit only just which shows how erratic my success can be here. Gonna do have to do a bit of work to get back into the top 30 here, but I'm hopeful my entry this month can at least do a bit better (I thought I may have to holiday confirm but thank you for taking my schedule into account xx)
