Brandy Norwood released her first studio album for a few years, “Full Moon”, in 2002. “What About Us?” was the lead single and reached #4 in February that year. Brandy described it as an offbeat, aggressive, high-tech track that she hoped would be a game changer.

7th: Brandy - What About Us 12/32 votes (38%)

8th: Mark Ronson Featuring Lily Allen - Oh My God 12/31 votes (39%)

9th: D12 - How Come 11/32 votes (34%)

10th: Dirty Pretty Things - Bang Bang You’re Dead 9/32 votes (28%)

It’s between the 2 Beyoncé fronted songs for me now but going for “Girl” which is one of DC’s drippier efforts.

Will go with Girl as well, as it's definitely between that or Baby Boy.

I liked The Girl Is Mine mash-up though.

Awww man love that Brandy song

Ian Carey Project to go

Switching to Destiny's Child here too - nowhere near as good as 'Lose My Breath' or the highlights of their earlier eras.

Destiny's Child in this one as well oop.

I promise I do love some of their tracks but Girl is not among them.

Honestly baffled by the abject hatred towards Girl in here-it’s a perfectly pleasant song, never gonna win but also not dreadful.

But then Beyonce/DC never seem to fare well in these polls. I’m sure there’s a reason why but I can’t quite put my finger on it.

“Girl” has made it to Round 5 with very few votes so that’s hardly abject hatred. And DC look like they’re about to make the final in the #96 survivor so I’d say they’re doing fine.

I used to run these polls. There was definitely a bias against Beyonce/DC. That doesn’t mean they always went out first but they often went out well before they should have done. I know that’s just my opinion but the bias wasn’t.

Let's face it though, she's had quite a few shocking moments over the years that probably deserved going out when they did. Also 'Girl' is hardly a masterpiece so I'd say if that does leave in 5th that's a fair enough result and the other tracks are way stronger.

I can honestly say I vote purely based on the song each time, the only act I'd perhaps say I do have a slight bias towards is something like Scouting For Girls - but then ALL of their songs are just that f***ing terrible.
