It's one of those Christmas songs that people don't know the name of or artist behind it. If people were more aware it would probably much bigger

Yeah, I see your point.

I mentioned it to someone the other day - who loves Christmas songs any everything else about it - and he had no idea what I was talking about until I played it to him.

Low sales climate keeping Gaga as high as #29, song seems to have disappeared of the face of the earth with the impact it has had beyond week 1.

Shame cos its actually a bit of a bop.

Biography

Canadian singer, dancer, and actress Tate McRae balances emotive, intimate alternative pop and pulse-pounding, R&B-inflected dancepop. Following her viral emergence in 2017, she released her debut EP, 2020's All the Things I Never Said, featuring the Billie Eilish and Finneas O'Connell co-write "Tear Myself Apart." She followed with her first Billboard Top 20 hit, "You Broke Me First," from 2021's Too Young to Be Sad EP. McRae delivered her debut album, I Used to Think I Could Fly, the following year, hitting the top 5 in Canada and cracking the top 20 of the Billboard 200. In 2023, she released her mainstream breakthrough, Think Later. - Apple Music

Biography

Los Angeles singer/songwriter Gracie Abrams has a talent for cutting to the quick. A song about a breakup’s messy aftermath, “21” opens bluntly with the line: “I missed your 21st birthday.” Another song about finding it hard to move on revolves around the simple admission, “I miss you, I’m sorry.” Abrams’ swift incisions are particularly notable given that her father is director J.J. Abrams, whose television series Lost boasted such ingeniously convoluted plotlines. Born in 1999, the Los Angeles native grew up listening to Joni Mitchell and Elliott Smith, but it wasn’t until she discovered Phoebe Bridgers, at age 13, that she began writing her own songs. She wrote “minor”—about a crush who lived too far away for her to visit before curfew—at age 17. “It was the first time that I’d written a song where I felt like I wasn’t trying to emulate someone else’s sound,” she tells Apple Music. Even Abrams’ early singles display a wisdom beyond her years. Released when she was 20, “21” revolves around the devastating line, “You’ll be the love of my life when I was young”—an elegant example of her knack for turning an idea as simple as “young love” into a complex meditation on life’s changes. “Looking back is unattractive to me,” she acknowledges, yet while preparing her first long-form statement—2020’s minor—she realized she needed to reflect to move forward. “Thinking about what that meant and how the songs needed to exist together,” she says, the experience of writing “minor” as a teen never went away. “It was always in the back of my head. I didn’t want to run away from it.” - Apple Music

If Brenda Lee's record company withdrew Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree from streaming sites for three years, it could come back with a reset and get to number one.

Rules prevent that happening for Christmas songs

Biography

Benson Boone (born in 2002 in Monroe, WA) bet on himself and hit big in the early 2020s. After leaving Brigham Young University to pursue his music career, the singer-songwriter tried out for American Idol, but he left the competition after making it past the talent show’s auditions. Trading the small screen of TV for the hand-sized screens of social media, he began posting videos online, and Imagine Dragons frontman Dan Reynolds took notice, signing Boone to his label Night Street Records. Boone’s early singles were emotion-packed piano ballads—the sweeping debut single “GHOST TOWN,” the swirling 2022 cut “In The Stars”—but plugging in proved to be a winning strategy. His modern power ballad “Beautiful Things,” released in early 2024, was an online sensation before it became a global megahit, reaching the U.S. Top 10 and readying the world for Boone’s debut full-length, Fireworks & Rollerblades, which came out that spring. - Apple Music

I don't get the hate on here for Gracie.

I like all three of her charting singles.

I know she is nothing new... but she's not even pretending to be.

If Brenda Lee's record company withdrew Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree from streaming sites for three years, it could come back with a reset and get to number one.

In 4 years time it will be the song's 70th anniversary so maybe they can capitalise on that.

I really don't get the hype of this Gracie. What a borefest.

Biography

Famously recruited to become a K-pop trainee on his way to class while studying acting at university, BTS member JIN is often seen as the goofy older brother of the superstar group. While there’s truth to this playful persona—JIN often introduces himself as “Worldwide Handsome” to English-language press—it can occasionally obscure the Korean vocalist's commitment and talent. Born in the Seoul suburb of Anyang as 김석진 (or Kim Seok-jin) in 1992, JIN had no training as a singer or dancer before joining Big Hit Entertainment in 2011. However, he would debut alongside RM, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook as 방탄소년단 (or Bangtan Sonyeondan), aka BTS, in 2013. The group would go on to become one of the most popular bands in the world, selling out stadium concerts in a matter of minutes. Under the BTS umbrella, JIN has released solo ballads “Awake,” “Epiphany,” and “Moon.” The singer’s earnest, powerful delivery is also well-suited for K-drama soundtracks; JIN’s OST discography includes Hwarang’s “It’s Definitely You” (alongside BTS co-member V) and Jirisan’s “Yours.” In December 2021, JIN the dropped super-silly trot-style bop “Super Tuna,” which chronicles the singer’s efforts to catch a fish, as a gift to fans on his 29th birthday. The song’s accompanying performance video went viral on YouTube and inspired a TikTok dance challenge. In 2022, JIN would become the first member of BTS to begin mandatory military enlistment. Before departing, he released “The Astronaut” as his official solo single debut. JIN co-wrote and composed the track alongside British rockers Coldplay; the song explores the power of connection and love, and was intended as a gift to fans in anticipation of JIN’s impending absence from K-pop idol life. - Apple Music

Biography

While it can be a big challenge for a young performer to transition from teen-TV stardom to success in the music world, Sabrina Carpenter’s made it look easy. It helps that Carpenter—born in 1999 in Pennsylvania—has pursued both sides of her career in tandem, releasing her first music before she became a regular presence on the Disney Channel thanks to her roles in Girl Meets World and Adventures in Babysitting. (She also made her Broadway debut in 2020 in the musical Mean Girls—how’s that for multitasking?) On her first two albums—2015’s Eyes Wide Open and 2016’s EVOLution—Carpenter set herself apart from her teenage peers with her deft delivery and her eagerness to embrace a wide array of dance-music styles. Elements of trap and house help energise two hits that topped Billboard’s dance-music chart in 2019: “Sue Me”, a cheeky kiss-off partially inspired by a lawsuit by two of her former managers, and “Almost Love”, a thrilling club track Carpenter co-wrote with the Stargate production team. A two-part album that dropped in 2018 and 2019, Singular: Act I and Singular: Act II provided more proof of Carpenter’s fast-developing abilities as a singer and songwriter who’s moved past any of the teen-star stereotypes to become a full-fledged club diva. The intimate emails i can't send followed in 2022. - Apple Music

Biography

Chappell Roan specializes in jubilant, femme-positive pop that combines a strong romantic streak with a hunger for grand experiences. Kayleigh Rose Amstutz (born in 1998 in Willard, MO) began posting cover-song videos online in her teens, and after releasing her first EP, School Nights, in 2017, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue her pop-star dreams. In early 2020 she connected with producer Dan Nigro, and that April she released “Pink Pony Club,” a torchy ballad about thriving at “a special place/where boys and girls can all be queens every single day.” Roan released a smattering of singles, including the writhing “My Kink Is Karma” and the yearning “Casual,” before putting out her first full-length, The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess, in September 2023. Roan’s unbridled, lusty pop songs became an online phenomenon—or, as she might put it, a “femininomenon”—and she hit the arena circuit when she opened for Olivia Rodrigo on the latter’s GUTS tour in early 2024. - Apple Music
