not "Clean Baby Sleep White Noise (Loopable)" making the top 20 - says it all about how dead the beginning of the year is for streaming

Jimin's bot farm back in full swing too I see

Looking like Gracie has another easy #1 coming next week as Messy is not really gaining anything and nothing else is strong or big enough. Bad Bunny’s album unlikely to make a big impact in the UK

It's ok...

JADE is coming to save us on the 10th with 'IT girl' :cheeseblock:

Unless something goes massively viral out of nowhere I think Gracie has a few more weeks at number one ahead of her. A real lack of competition right now

Is that a single or a grat still can't work it out

Ooh at 'Headlock' jumping so much today - I was kind of here for it having an ikonik run peaking at #74 in two different years but would be great if it can go top 40 x

The way she stylised this title I keep reading it as 'I.T. girl'. Did her music career already not pan out xx (:kink:)

What a random decrease on streams for Beautiful Things... he's been consistent on the same streams for a long time (even on new years eve the song didn't increase a lot) and it's probably the song that has lost more streams after that day...

Wrong way Lola :(

I genuinely thought she had a shot at number 1 but it's not looking likely now.

Now I wonder if Messy can even go top 3 if Sailor Song is still doing that well

Almost everything is down massively on streams. New Year’s Day streams are notoriously low

"Messy" is up to #2 on Apple Music now & #7 on Amazon. I think it should be able to in January at some point!

I suspect a lot of people are still in New Year/looking back mode and will go back to newer releases when many people return to work.

As an aside, is that white noise 'song' likely to chart officially? It seems extremely high there, is it high up a white noise playlist or something? Just seen it has 1.5bn streams, somebody is onto a winner, making a load of money by doing nothing.

The amount of people who'll have used it to drown out fireworks will be huge. Pretty sure it's not eligible for the charts but will be pleased to be proven wrong

The white noise isn't chart eligible (although I feel there's an argument it maybe should be if The RSPB and John Cage were allowed to chart!)

I actually saw an interesting article on Reddit the other day about the white noise Spotify grift - a bit of a plot twist that it turns out to involve Ameritz who some with good memories may recall were also behind one of the first 'fake versions' to appear in the UK chart (with 'their' version of Leona Lewis' version of 'Run').

I wondered if they might file it next to RSPB and John Cale, which were both allowed to chart.

But yes, I suspect it's a one day bump like you say, so will quickly fall again. I've just never seen one of these do so well on streams before.

I don't see why the white noise thing would be chart ineligible if it does get enough streams to do so

another white noise 'song' was certified Silver in July last year, the all-time classic of the genre "White Noise For Babies" by White Noise
