  • That's an interesting list! From Eva Cassidy & Katie Melua - What a Wonderful World onwards, they're all charity singles. So the last "normal" #1 (without an attachment to charity) to be uncertifi

  • Very pleased to see 'Slow' finally get passed the Silver mark. Strange it's taken so long, it's much more of a classic than its sales would suggest and doesn't deserve to be a part of this list of #1

Keri Hilson is an absolute SLAY

YES *_* Came on my shuffle the other week on my R&B playlist and forgot how much I loved it! Happy to see "Pretty Girl Rock" go silver!

do we have all time figures for Wonderful Christmastime and the other oldies?

Just Dance 4x Platinum, I often feel it gets overlooked compared to hits like Poker Face, Bad Romance and Born This Way.

New retro certifications:

Paul McCartney - Wonderful Christmastime (3x Platinum)

201,963 pre February 1994 units + 1,800,000 post February 1994 units = 2,001,963 total chart units!

Don McLean - Vincent (Platinum)

415,000 pre February 1994 units + 600,000 post February 1994 units = 1,015,000 total chart units

The Contours - Do You Love Me (Platinum)

8,007 pre February 1994 units + 600,000 post February 1994 units = 608,007 total chart units

Kate Bush - Cloudbusting (Gold)

68,119 pre February 1994 units + 400,000 post February 1994 units = 468,119 total chart units

The Temptations - Just My Imagination (Silver)

220,000 pre February 1994 units + 200,000 post February 1994 units = 420,000 total chart units

Really pleased for Chinchilla - getting a certification without having a hit single just validates an artist, especially when it is so difficult for British artists to breakthrough these days in the streaming era.

Kate Bush - Cloudbusting (Gold)

68,119 pre February 1994 units + 400,000 post February 1994 units = 468,119 total chart

So we’ll deserved

Beautiful song and one of the most beautiful music video of all time with the great Donald Sutherland

❤️

I think just because it’s the most generic out of Gaga’s early hits (it was literally convinced during writing sessions for The Pussycat Dolls 2nd album) so it doesn’t really “feel” like Gaga the way the other big hits of that era do.

I don’t think she is even performing it on her current tour?

Oh, I didn’t know it was written for the Pussycat Dolls second album.

According to my figures there have only ever been 12 songs to have been certified 8 x platinum, the most recent being "One Dance" and "Shotgun".

However it would appear that 3 more songs are about to reach this achievement, "RipTide", "Take Me To Church" and "Someone Like You", so watch out for these before Christmas.
