Pretty sure I've seen snippets of the song on social media previously so might have been building up before release. Music video has 1.5 million views already so thinking decent sized hit. His album releases next week so we'll likely see a boost from that for the two songs as well.

I have suspicions regarding autoplay on Gorillaz.

 

Was another one of those songs that showed up very high for a few weeks last year before dropping out completely and then suddenly reappearing a few months later and rinse and repeat. We'll see how long it hangs around this year.

 

Could be this year's equivalent of Brown Eyed Girl if Every Breath You Take hasn't already taken that role.

Oh no I agree, I have no complaints about the song choices, Can’t Stop by RHCP is another potential example of this.

 

All these songs are probably fairly popular anyway, but I do think their numbers are being inflated at certain times. The way Brown Eyed Girl completely bombed out after being comfortably around the top 75 for months and months makes no sense imo.

I wondered why it sampled it, thought it was a bit of a random choice, but it seems like its another case of a song being sampled after the original song having recently gone viral, same with Dirty Cash.

 

Though Aitch and Bou were being more original with their sample choice and so I'm a bit disappointed :lol:

Central Cee 28 on Amazon - strong start there. Looks like if he holds well on spotify the song should debut top 10?
