February 3Feb 3 Thanks for some great hosting Kath, and congrats Cody, both tracks tied at the top were incredible discoveries and worthy smashes. Β Thanks to those who voted for 'Pest', I've been really obsessed with it and getting 3 18s and a handful of other high points is a great reflection of that, it didn't hit everybody by a long shot but those it did, hit hard, I'm happy with that to open the account for this year.
February 3Feb 3 Well that is closer on the vote count than I'd have guessed!Β Congrats Cody (assuming I don't end up overturning this win when I double check the votes later, and let's face it if that was going to happen to anyone it'd be Cody purely for the chaos), not quite starting the year with a winner that I voted for but close enough, only missed out on my votes by 1 place and was tied in points with my 15 pointer!Β Will comment on the rest after updating my spreadsheet but a nice comfortable top 20 to start the year I'm rather happy with, 4 places higher than my first entry of last year and a higher points total too. February 3Feb 3 Thanks for the fab hosting Kath and congrats Cody, a great winner there bubbling outside our charts as I type, and thank you for the mid-break use of Drugs, I mean TRUCKS! :lol: Condolences to Skall losing on a tiebreak, but at least Postiljonen was massive in Singerpurear charts, one of the biggest winners of all-time for us, and I say being remembered is the ultimate win. Talking of our chart-toppers, great to see Belinda Carlisle top 20 for Lookylion, class! :cheer:

I'm glad people enjoyed Honki Ponki - one of my flatmates came across it somehow and it's become a bit of a running joke now (despite actually being a protest song!) and we play it all the time. February 3Feb 3 Okay bray checked everything so itβs finally safe to comment π«£ I have been on a constant high in between the new Gaga and IVE releases and thought that the middle of my workout would be the best time to comment on this so RIP me π« Β This was a song I found on one of the curated Spotify playlists and I was like βyou know what I love this and I think everyone else is gonna love it so why notβ, and words cannot express how elated I am that this managed to click with a lot of people :heart: after the shitstorm of the middle of last year I felt like Iβve hit a low point creatively in this contest and around September I aimed to redeem myself from thatβ¦ safe to say that I did! First medal in 2 1/2 years and first semi win since EVERGLOW 4 years ago :o Thanks to everyone who supported and especially to everyone who gave me medals (4 golds which is tied for the second most top pointers with βWorst Taste In Girlsβ) :heart: :heart: thank yβall for proving me wrong in the odds :PΒ lol @ how the scoreboard turned out after Robβs votes, I think I probably would have shot myself in the foot with a few more listens as Skall wasnβt too far from my votes but still glad to have won that tiebreak π I ended up voting for a good chunk of the top 10 which is good, CLARA top 5 is excellent, and great to see Hinterlandia top 10 :cheer: defo thought Cheiron would have ended up in one of the top spots and Klum Rep, Lotunia and especially FARC were done dirty this contest :(Β Thanks so much for the hosting Kath and I hope you enjoyed Charliβs Grammys performance!
February 3Feb 3 Wow what a finish, congratulations Cody! :cheer: Looking forward to perhaps my first visit to Cor Lupus which I guess keeps Unknown Pleasures on the back burner in BJSC 172!Β Hard luck for my 18 pointer to lose on a tiebreak :drama: it really grew on me from first listen to getting my 7 points in the semi, and then jumping past the three songs ahead of it in the final! Pretty great top 10 really, all of 4th-7th were in my top 8 (I knew Addy would improve on my 29th place finish with Otha in BJSC 164 from how well her new material since then has gone down), and my commiserations were the only thing I ended up rushing but the songs at 9th & 10th were just outside, so happy to see them top 10 even at the expense of my 15 pointer in 11th. My 13 pointer deserved better than 35th, but happy to help it to three figures at least.Β Since I checked out last night while 6 points adrift at the bottom, things picked up a little thanks to points from Kath, Jake (I missed host points and my only medal in real time by less than 10 minutes!), BrΓ© and hinterland, taking me to the dizzying heights of 40th *.* Relieved to avoid another spoon (if I have to get another sometime, could it at least be in a final of 41 for a unique position :lol: ) but this was not really what the doctor ordered for me (nor Rich) on return from DNQ, 73 points is not great and 12 voters is a new low for a final, 2 less than the aforementioned spoon c/o Mozey and 1 less than Attractive Chaos three contests ago. I also matched my lowest semi qualifying score of 41 with No two contests ago, and yet again benefitted from another's footshoot - on which... Seems I didn't shoot myself in the foot with the semi results then as I was never considering docking Bronzil as many as 4 points, fair enough, hopefully my luck starts next time x...you'd need to have docked me 5 points, since I had a 10 and an 8 from elsewhere - still I'm gutted to have qualified at the expense of one of my own votes again, not a great few months in the land of Bronzil all told. On the plus side, my uncharacteristically late vote meant an appearance in the coke bag! Β Thank you Kath for the brat-tastic hosting! :brat:
