Boo at Morgan being number one, can't we leave this stuff in America?

I like this photo on the OCC article where it looks like Morgan Wallen has joined The Sherlocks.

The Morgan album is really good, deserved No1. 80% could be singles.

Yeah Ordinary is up quite a bit on YouTube but down on Spotify. It went viral that he overtook Elvis record of American male artist #1 weeks in a row so I assume a lot of people were checking him out on YouTube. I suspect he’ll decline this week then gain next week when the new song gives it a boost. So probably no ACR for a long time.

My predictions for the next 3 weeks

This week Ordinary

Next week Bloodline

Week after Family Matters

But I guess it’s more likely Ordinary just stays #1 the whole time

And still I'm completely mystified as to what the appeal is

It's all TikTok. Alex has been popular on there since 2019 in the same realm as Addison Rae, the D'Amelio sisters etc. He's just had quite the upward the trajectory with his music now being signed to an actual record label.

Slim Whitman had 11 successive weeks at number one.

Oh that's very low for Sherlocks, thought they were campaigning for #1

Where is the televote winner whose song public obviously adored

Disappoint for The Sherlock’s - the album has been on pre-order for 6 months, they’ve released a ton of physicals at low prices and done some innovative stuff along with the trekking around on album signings and launch shows.

Yep I thought the Sherlocks would be easily double that today - they've been pushing an offer for 4 signed CDs for 16 pounds for ages. They will be really disappointed at this.

It's a greatest hits album so if his back catalogue is getting a lot of streams I wouldn't rule out a climb!

Oh thought it was unreleased material , fair enough if it is a greatest hits then it could

Ready for the Alex flop claims if Bloodline doesn't enter at #1 x

He has an unreleased song on there with Elle King titled Let’s Ride Away

I can't believe Morgan Wallen's Dangerous album didn't make the top 75 in the UK and only scraped one week in the top 100. It was and still is absolutely HUGE in America. Just shows country music is not really that big here in comparison!

It did go Gold in the UK though. So people obviously listen to it. Plus his follow up album spent 28 weeks in the Top 100 which is no mean feat for a non-legacy album

I think the issue is the ring up and pay to vote. I'm sure there would be a VERY different set of results if we could vote via the app.

The track entered the Spotify Top 200 yesterday meaning it was streamed a fair bit on Sunday. A lot of people probably didn't hear the track until its performance on Saturday night and then sought it out on streaming the next day to listen again. Monday's chart update is then missing this data (apart from Amazon I believe) so it wouldn't be there until perhaps later on in the week if at all.

An article on the OCC website has revealed that Remember Monday - 'What The Hell Just Happened?' is at #30 in the mids today

Potentially the first girl-group top 40 hit since FIFTY FIFTY - 'Cupid' two years ago if it holds up

Come on Remember Monday! I'm really hoping it can make it.

I assume Sunday would've been its biggest day on streaming though and it'll fall away as the week goes on.
