We are back at 4pm tomorrow! Quite an accumulation of bonuses to get through in the first couple of sessions, but we'll still cover 7 weeks of 1983 in each.

Heaven 17 - Temptation

Eurythmics - Love Is A Stranger

Forrest - Feel The Need In Me

The Human League - (Keep Feeling) Fascination

Blancmange - Blind Vision

D Train - Music (Part 1)

Big Country - In A Big Country

Tears For Fears - Pale Shelter

Yazoo - Nobody's Diary

Temptation is very good and iconic and builds up a lot, Blancmange - Blind Vision likewise. Its a pity Heaven 17's follow-ups were nowhere near as good as 'Temptation'. 'Love is a Stranger' is great dark synthpop. I think Forrest's cover of 'Feel The Need' sounds like a late 80s dance track. One of Human Leagues best too top 5 and then just missing out good synth dance/proto-house from D Train. Another goodie from Big Country too. Yazoo song is nice too.

Still not as good a selection of music as 1982 in my opinion.

Top 5:

Galaxy Featuring Phil Fearon - Dancing Tight

New Edition - Candy Girl

Pink Floyd - Not Now John

Flash And The Pan - Waiting For A Train

Mtume - Juicy Fruit

Worst:

The Belle Stars - Sweet Memory

The Human League - (Keep Feeling) Fascination

Heaven 17 - Temptation

Fun Boy Three - Our Lips Are Sealed

Bob Marley And The Wailers - Buffalo Soldier

The Police - Every Breath You Take

Yazoo, The Creatures and Tears For Fears just missing out

Big Country - In A Big Country

The Police - Every Breath You Take

Spandau Ballet - True

Tears For Fears - Pale Shelter

Thin Lizzy - Thunder And Lightning

3 songs I already knew well, 1 I have heard before but still not super familiar with it (Tears For Fears) and 1 new discovery (Thin Lizzy). Next best ones I knew already are Heaven 17, Eurythmics and Yazoo and next best discoveries were Rush ('Countdown'), The Creatures, Bauhaus and Flash And The Pan.

'In A Big Country' is my fave this week so I hope it's not just me voting for it!

I preferred 400 Miles (Fields of Fire). Forgot about Eurythmics fab Love Is A Stranger so have to change my votes.

total classics in this bunch, just 5 is tough:

The Human League - (Keep Feeling) Fascination

Fun Boy Three - Our Lips Are Sealed

The Police - Every Breath You Take

Tears For Fears - Pale Shelter

Heaven 17 - Temptation

For Sunday's session, it would be great to see a tribute to the wonderful David Attenborough. He is a great classical music buff. He used to be a regular guest on Face The Music, a classical music quiz which I used to watch with my parents in the 1970s. BBC4 are currently showing repeats.

When he was last on Desert Island Discs, his top choice was the 3rd of Johann Sebastian Bach’s Goldberg Variations, so that might be a good piece to play.

Could easily be 15, but narrowed it down to these 5:

Eurythmics - Love Is A Stranger

The Human League - (Keep Feeling) Fascination

The Beat - Can't Get Used To Losing You

Bob Marley And The Wailers - Buffalo Soldier

Wham! - Bad Boys

Tears For Fears - Pale Shelter

Yazoo - Nobody's Diary

Robert Wyatt - Shipbuilding

Eurythmics - Love Is A Stranger

Blancmange - Blind Vision

Worst

Chill Fac-Torr - Twist (Round 'N' Round)

Julio Iglesias - Hey!

The Kids From 'Fame' - Friday Night (Live Version)

Heaven 17 - Temptation

The Police - Every Breath You Take

Robert Wyatt - Shipbuilding

Bob Marley - Butfalo Soldier

Flash And The Pan - Waiting For A Train

Eurythmics - Love Is A Stranger

Sweet Dreams - I'm Never Giving Up

Tears For Fears - Pale Shelter

Blancmange - Blind Vision

Robert Wyatt - Shipbuilding
