Afternoon all! We had 27 people take part in the first quiz of the season, and now it's time for the results! These will probably go on for 3-4 days (as is my usual nowadays) to allow people who aren't around right now to follow along.

Here are the questions as a reminder:

2. A Top 40 single whose title contains is made up of some, or all, of the letters of the phrase 'DREAMING OWL'

3. A Buzzjack member who started a thread in the UK Charts forum between the 14th and the 21st September 2025

5. A UK Top 40 single crediting an artist who has reached the final of the Eurovision Song Contest since 2020, excluding Eurovision songs themselves.

And so we begin! This one thankfully only had a finite set of answers, and most of them were guessed, with a few Pointlesses to kick us off nicely! Those Damn Crows were the highest-guessed answer, presumably the fact they've never been a singles artist making people think they were more obscure. Lola Young is unfortunately incorrect - whilst she had her first Number 1 single this year, she's yet to top the albums chart!

Hmm didn't one of those pointless answers have a previous #1 album in 2022? Unless that counts as a 'mixtape' I suppose.

Reneé Rapp was the first to come into my head so decided to trust my gut throughout the process and not overthink.

Recency factor and a bit of a surprise #1 album artist but fair play for choosing a good week to release.

Yay really wasn’t sure about that one. Thankfully didn’t go with Morgan Wallen in the end.

Well let's get this question out of the way The result of all the confusion around what the question actually meant means that there are actually a whole lot more songs you can make out of these letters that I expected! For those wondering, I got the phrase by combining 'Am I Wrong' (which no-one went for, although not too surprisingly given how many other obscure songs you could go for) and 'Golden' - and it was the first anagram to pop up. Linger is the only song to get a significant number of guesses, and a couple of people duplicated letters which unfortunately leads to an incorrect answer.

Decided to play that one safe just in case and glad I did now

(also 'Dreaming' is an amazing song of course)

I totally didn’t get the question for #2 and was looking at the letters in the phrase 🫠. Kinda surprised that nobody else said Lorde though!

Phewwww couldn’t predict how that one would go! Nearly went with Low by Flo Rida.

Glad I went with Brandi for the first one, thought she would be an uncommon answer thanks to her number one being a collab. Surprised my (corrected) answer to question 2 was pointless though!

Aaand Question 3 brings down anyone's hopes of getting 10 pointless answers in a row. I'm the most popular (yay!) and I initially marked everyone who put me as incorrect thinking that this quiz was after the time frame, until I remembered I had also posted the sign-ups thread within the past week! Not sure if there were actually any pointless answers but everyone on the list got more than one guess.
