S is for Shine.

Two British acts both had a top 10 hit titled 'Shine' in the first half of 2007, but while one managed to top the chart, the other found themselves at the other end of the top 10. Take That released their 'Shine' in March, following up their successful comeback hit 'Patience' with yet another chart topper - marking their tenth number one! Their streak of 14 top 10 hits would be broken with their subsequent release - the forgotten 'I'd Wait For Life'. This hit was notable for being one of the rare singles where Mark takes lead vocals (much to my preference tbth) and was a nice contrast from the balladry of 'Patience'.

Two months later and third-of-Big Brovaz-turned-dance-duo Booty Luv were also fresh off their own hit, the previous year's unlikely #2 smash 'Boogie 2nite', and decided to follow it up with a cover of the Luther Vandross #50 smash 'Shine'. They managed to bag themselves another top 10 hit and a couple more top 20 hits before disappearing.

But which is your favourite 'Shine'?

Take That's song still holds up to this day and a fun 21st Century Take That track in general.

Always found Booty Luv's track to be forgettable (compared to 'Boogie 2nite' and 'Some Kinda Rush'), even when it was around back in 2006.
