PinkPantheress - "Stateside" at #84 too thanks to the Zara remix. Would love to see this get a new peak - that #41 peak hurts :(

'Stateside' has so far peaked at #45, so not quite as soul-crushing as #41, but hopefully can be a future top 40 indeed 🙏

The original is one of my favourites of the year but I'm slowly getting used to the updated production / Zara verse!

  • And as ever we don’t necessarily even know what order they’re really in on Spotify because they might have different premium to free proportions.

  • All too often in this group we have focused too much on Spotify, and then being surprised that the songs doing best on Spotify aren’t always number 1. On Amazon it’s Golden followed by Man I Need. A

  • So that's basically resets confirmed for The Fate of Ophelia, WHERE IS MY HUSBAND! and So Easy (To Fall in Love), but not Man I Need or Golden, as expected.

I hope So Easy can stay ahead of Rein Me In and I hope I Run can overtake Lush Life

Shame the Christmas songs didn’t drop as quickly as they did last year

It's probably because this year includes Boxing Day, whereas last year was tracking from the 27th onwards...

Something to do with the calender probably 🤭

Hope they play the christmas songs that survive for giggles 🤣

They might do that on Sunday’s POTP 2006 with FONY

I also listened to POTP 1984 on Sunday where there were 4 Christmas songs in the chart (The Power Of Love, We All Stand Together, Wham! and Band Aid) and all 4 got played

What’s wrong with one last Hurrah, you won’t hear them for another 11 months!

And why not it was the 28th Dec, the heart of the Xmas season. Makes more sense to me than putting your Xmas tree up on 1st Nov!

Heck January 2nd the chart reveal is more festive season than November 1st 🤭

All except LC and XMAS should be out of top 40 by Friday. They are doing like 50k on Spotify (ACR) and dropping like a stone every day.

I feel it will be more than that. ‘Last Christmas’ just missed out last year, with a much lower total streaming figure - so I think at least four Christmas songs will be in, if not more.

Nobody has mentioned that Tiffany is in!

Originally it was clearly denied a reset because a reset would not have pushed it into the top 40 (it was not significantly below Kate Bush in streaming).

It looks like it has finally been reset after all!?

So hoping that Tiffany will get into the top 40 – and I also have a feeling that she will get a lot of New Year’s Eve streams - though I don’t know if she is on any New Year’s Eve playlists.

And yes, it does look as though the OCC has done away with the one reset per artist rule.

I Should be so lucky knocked Tiffany off number one early in 1988. If you’d told me then that this song was back in the charts 37 years later and Kylie would have just had a number one single and album I don’t think I’d have been able to get my 12 year old brain round it!

Ditto… ‘11 year old brain’.

I really don’t get why Taylor’s been reset? I feel like the label must have asked either that or the occ really do make it up as they along.

Hoping Die on this Hill keeps climbing, I have a hunch it might eventually get to the top in the new year.

It went to ACR during December so has been reset with the other songs that went to ACR in December - has been the norm for the first post-Christmas chart for a few years now!

yea but now there’s also no longer a ‘one reset per artist’ rule for it too

I didn’t mind TPOL and WAST getting played especially as the latter is one of the most underrated Christmas songs that barely gets played
