Each week (aiming for Sunday evenings) I'll post one of these polls and ask you all to select your favourites from the week's new entries in the UK Singles Chart top 100. Unlike the similar polls in the genre forums, this poll is multiple choice - I'll leave it to your discretion how you want to give votes, if you want to just vote for your favourite each week then go for it, if not you can vote for as many songs as you feel deserve a vote (I will encourage people to make sure they've actually listened to all of the songs before voting but I can't enforce that obviously x). There's also a 'none of the above' option if you want to put in a protest vote. And then feel free to post in the thread any rankings/ratings or general thoughts. The song with the most votes at the end of the week will be the winner.

Week 3 saw another very comfortable win for the comeback of American superstar Bruno Mars with 'I Just Might', the lead single from his forthcoming 4th solo studio album (and first for nearly a decade) 'The Romantic'. It picked up votes from 26 out of 44 who participated last week. The only other track to crack double figure votes was another lead single from a long awaited new album, A$AP Rocky's 'PUNK ROCKY' which got 11 votes. In a turnup for the books, on a list with 7 songs by male artists and just 1 by a female artist, said female artist actually came dead last (and we have our first two songs of the year who were outperformed in the poll by the 'none of the above' option).

Full week 3 results:

1 26/44 Bruno Mars - I Just Might (#6)

2 11/44 A$AP Rocky - PUNK ROCKY (#87)

3 8/44 Zach Bryan - Plastic Cigarette (#29)

3 8/44 Zach Bryan - Say Why (#43)

5 7/44 Zach Bryan - Appetite (#48)

6 5/44 The Kid LAROI - RATHER BE (feat. Lithe) (#78)

[4/44 none of the above]

7 3/44 Luke Combs - Sleepless In A Hotel Room (#58)

8 2/44 Skye Newman - Lonely Girl (#100)

This week's contenders:

A$AP Rocky - HELICOPTER (#42)

A$AP Rocky - STAY HERE 4 LIFE (feat. Brent Faiyaz) (#49)

A$AP Rocky - STOLE YA FLOW (#59)

Jeff Buckley - Lover, You Should've Come Over (#61)

mikeeysmind, Chill77 and Unjaps - Papaoutai (Afro Soul) (#68)

Wizkid and Asake - Jogodo (#74)

ZXKAI and slxughter - NO BATIDÃO (#91)

7 new entries this week, at least 5 of which are probably fully made by humans (Jeff Buckley is certainly in the clear with this being the second pre-turn-of-the-century track to make its top 100 debut in 2026 already). Interested to see if anyone is willing to publicly stick their neck out for the 'Papaoutai' cover teresa

notes about credits and versions

I usually try to avoid double crediting irrespective of 'official' tags on streaming services or crediting non-artist entities but there is precious little information available on who or what exactly 'Chill77' and 'Unjaps' even are - I see speculation (courtesy of The Mode Reviews on YouTube) that the former is just an alias of mikeeysmind while Unjaps seems like it might just be a record label, but there are releases on Spotify credited solely to Unjaps and posts on the label's Instagram seemingly suggesting there is an artist of that name as well. I've devoted enough brain space to this now so I'll just credit it as is and look forward to being able to dump it from my playlist once this week is over.

Also the most popular version of the ZXKAI track appears to actually be the 'Slowed' version but I'm sure it makes little difference and both versions - as well as a 'Super Slowed' and 'Ultra Slowed' (!, still clocking in at barely 2 minutes) - have tens of millions of plays on Spotify so I've just stuck with the original version on the playlist, as ever feel free to vote based on any or all versions. This may or may not also be an AI song that is not worth devoting this much time to thinking about.

Hall of Fame:

Week 1: Zara Larsson - Midnight Sun [29/49]

Week 2: Fleetwood Mac - Landslide [27/48]

Week 3: Bruno Mars - I Just Might [26/44]

Not every week can be a winner x

(I say as I'll still be voting for at least 4 of these)

Gone with all except the two AI related songs

Went for “Helicopter” and Buckley. Gah that “Papaoutai” cover is quite convincing (helped by the fact that it’s partly genuine vocals).

jeff buckley

Yeah a rare occasion where I'll also pick "none of the above", none of these do it for me. PUNK ROCKY is superior to all three of these A$AP songs. Didn't hate the Wizkid & Asake or Jeff Buckley songs but didn't care for them either. NO BATIDÃO was an odd song, AI or otherwise.

The AI Papaoutai cover might actually be a nice listen if it were made by real artists putting in the hard work. The "vocals" on this are unfortunately rough anyway, borderline shouty in parts, but the vibe is nice. Won't be listening again out of choice.

  1. Jeff Buckley - Lover, You Should've Come Over (#61)

  2. A$AP Rocky - STOLE YA FLOW (#59)

  3. Wizkid and Asake - Jogodo (#74)

  4. A$AP Rocky - HELICOPTER (#42)

  5. ZXKAI and slxughter - NO BATIDÃO (#91)

  6. A$AP Rocky - STAY HERE 4 LIFE (feat. Brent Faiyaz) (#49)

  7. mikeeysmind, Chill77 and Unjaps - Papaoutai (Afro Soul) (#68)

Jeff Buckley and 'HELICOPTER' for me. The AI songs make me despair for the future. The cover art for the 'Papaoutai' one even has some of the elephant 'shadows' the wrong way up.

Even Jeff Buckley?

Especially Jeff Buckley 💀

  • A$AP Rocky - HELICOPTER (#42) - much more like the A$AP we know and love

  • A$AP Rocky - STAY HERE 4 LIFE (feat. Brent Faiyaz) (#49) - more on the boring side, unnecessarily long too

  • A$AP Rocky - STOLE YA FLOW (#59) - much more like the A$AP we know and love

  • Jeff Buckley - Lover, You Should've Come Over (#61) - so deathly, deathly dull

  • mikeeysmind, Chill77 and Unjaps - Papaoutai (Afro Soul) (#68) - the fact this even has "ai" in the title tearsmile complete garbage

  • Wizkid and Asake - Jogodo (#74) - not bad but lacking something

  • ZXKAI and slxughter - NO BATIDÃO (#91) - human-made or not this is actually a low-key banger

A$APx2 & ZXKAI

NO BATIDAO only for moi.

Is this a week late right? I can't see King Styles in the list.

Not particularly a fan of any of them but Brent sounds pretty good on STAY HERE 4 LIFE and Jogodo is pretty chill.

No it’s not a week late, he hasn’t officially debuted on the chart yet, not until Friday
