Elëdan coming 16th for us for the second time in 3 contests whoopsy (but they did get 11 points in the contest between so it's not all bad). A shame to not quite be able to squeeze Zephyra Continuum into our votes for their first final as well, hopefully not too long before they get onto our scorecard!

Anyways, highlights from those that did make our votes:

- Fljótavík's medal tally now stands at 5 golds, 6 silvers and 5 bronzes with this following previous 18s in back-to-back contests in BJSCs 106 & 107 (Jean-Michel Blais & Danger) and further golds for Two Shell in BJSC 143 & Headache in BJSC 157; the latter was also the last time they placed anywhere in our medal positions.

- Sovarasma's medal tally now stands at 1 gold, 2 silvers and 2 bronzes.

- Danæviia's medal tally now stands at 2 golds, 1 silver and 3 bronzes.

- Ajanaeda get their first points from us since 2 to Banshee in BJSC 171 and their highest since 15 to English Teacher in BJSC 162.

- Dalisska get their highest points to date from us again, surpassing the record they set with Flora Fishbach last contest by exactly 1 point. Our 3 points to The Toxic Avenger in BJSC 35 under the Eurovision voting system still remains the highest we've ranked a song from them in a final.

- Bøtanikkä get their first points from us since 1 to Loona in BJSC 168 (did not realise it'd been so long!) and their highest since 13 to Vandal Moon in BJSC 158.

- I feel like it is worthy of its own section in this commentary that some people might sometimes read to acknowledge how much I really surprised myself at the last minute with the order of my top 3 - I did give Faouzia 8 in the semi so it's not out of nowhere but it wasn't until the last couple of days that I really even considered it to be an 18 contender. 'Jenny Rotten' and 'Look Down On Us' both feel like much more archetypal '18 points from Persephonia' songs and I still think both of them are fantastic obviously but at the end of the day I feel like I would be lying to myself to not acknowledge that that chorus alone makes 'DON'T EVER LEAVE ME' feel like an all-timer BJSC pop (if the pop hoes will claim it) entry and the song I feel I'll most want to relisten to from this month, the previous Faouzia entries were both fine but didn't get any points from me, this swerve into Caroline Polachek territory is so out of leftfield but executed so perfectly. Meanwhile I feel like at least some of my enjoyment of the Sovarasma entry is down to the music video (18 points if it was a video contest x) and not 100% the song, while Danæviia's really just feels like it's a slightly extended and repainted version of the song I sent from Maruja before so it's almost boringly a favourite (although 'One Hand Behind The Devil' is one of my favourites of my own entries really so if it's not broken etc.) Full disclosure, I don't particularly want FLJ to win because repeat winner artists are no bueno and I actually voted to veto it (!), plus it wasn't even a discovery as I already heard it in PopJustice's contest (though it definitely grew on me further here), but take my 18 nonetheless!

No, the anniversary entries were BANKS and (the DNQing) Shawn Mendes.

My sentiment from the mod forum was that I might have wanted to veto the First Aid Kit song if someone sent it when it first came out but I'm not so bothered with it showing up years later. The song was never that popular on the site when it came out (only appeared in 2 BJSC participants' personal charts).
