It peaked at 5 just like 'Mr Writer' which came before it. April 12Apr 12 Author 'Absolutely Everybody' to win. Was my fave from the start. One of the best one hit wonders. An joyous pop anthem <3
April 12Apr 12 Both of these actually went to No.1 in my personal chart, but Evanescence was my end of year No.20 of 2006, and Vanessa was my end of year No.1 in 2000, so going for the iconic one-hit wonder (in the UK, Australia and Germany knew better) Vanessa! One of my go to 'cheer up' songs, and one of the best party pop anthems.
April 12Apr 12 Both brilliant, both entirely different. Call Me When You're Sober, great lyrics with a wonderful vocal. But "Absolutely Everybody" is just pure joy and still feels exciting to hear it today as it did all those years ago.
April 12Apr 12 Vanessa to win out of these two, and probably my second favourite of the round after Jack Penaté, all told.
April 12Apr 12 Absolutely Everybody to win, though I like them both.I was a huge Vanessa Amorosi fan back in 1999-2000 and absolutely loved this song, still do. It’s a shame she never had another hit in the UK.
April 15Apr 15 Voted for 'Absolutely Everybody' to win, agreed that it's an instant pick-me-up song - always goes down well at the exercise classes I go to <3
