Have to say that the instrumentals album is pretty good, I’m enjoying it a lot more than I thought I would without vocals

Go for a toilet break! That's what I did when 'Madame X' was announced, think I was gone 20 minutes! 😂

I know iTunes doesn't mean much but every little helps!

1 NEW Madonna - CONFESSIONS II: Instrumentals

2 -1 Madonna - CONFESSIONS II: Icon Edition

3 -1 Madonna - CONFESSIONS II

Worried about the report that Sienna is close behind drama

Now you put it like this! I think I take that back! I see what you mean here. I definitely hear more of the music she did in the 90s and to an extent Music than I do Confessions but I think the Confessions II title was a very smart move and lyrically it does fit.

I disagree!

If Confessions On A Dancefloor is inspired by 70s/80s music, this album is more 90s vibes and so the perfect follow up in my opinion. It does sound similar to some of her 90s music but that works for me because the original Confessions took inspirations from the decades before this!

Does anyone else think that after the absolute BOOM of Danceteria that Read My Lips is a bit lacking and drops the album off a bit before Everything brings it back?

I was actually expecting to dislike 'Read My Lips' based on the Confessions II film, but in full it's actually great!

I also think it’s pretty great, it’s getting a bit of a hard time from fans imo

As I mentioned in this post of the Friday Chart Predictions thread, I want her to beat MDNA first week sales now, lol! 😆

I'm still unsure this will happen, but Madonna already proved me wrong twice, so let's see. Either way, the fact that she already beat Madame X first week sales and is on course of doing that with Rebel Heart too is, definitely, a win.

That could've been saved for the 2nd week but I guess they are insecure about the US #1.

I agree with you.

I haven't seen any predictions for the US yet, but it makes me think that they're expecting the album to sell more than 120k in the first week there. At least, this is the amount it's expected you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love by Olivia Rodrigo to sell in its fourth week there, which is the main contender.

Now I have had a few days with this, I think it's not only the best album she's released in two decades, but better than the original Confessions. It doesn't have Hung Up, Get Together, or Sorry, songs so huge they're basically impossible to replicate, but it didn't explore dance music (and her own discography) the way this one does. also had a few clangers

It's almost audacious that she had this in her still, all these years later. It's relentless, and all 16 songs more than deserve their place. I think the second half is stronger and more interesting, not to discredit the first half. It's a journey. I saw someone describe School as being as much a product of Blackout as it is the soundtrack to a Babadook orgy

Introspective Madonna always gets me, especially now after 2023, so obviously I love the last few tracks too

Anyway. Smashed it x

This is how Love Without Words makes me feel

Interestingly, Sienna’s streaming is higher than Madonna’s. Assume Sienna is doing better on Apple Music.

Wasn’t this always expected since she’s young and a TikTok darling? I’m impressed Madonna is keeping up so well with her streaming wise

WE ARE VERY SAFE FOR #1 IN THE UK!

  1. Madonna - Confessions II (37,106)

  2. Sienna Spiro - Visitor (14,232)

23k ahead!

People thought Sienna might be a threat because of her streaming, but I knew they were overestimating it. Turns out they're exactly level in that regard!

Set for a six-figure debut in the US according to this HITS article. Yeah, it's really ambiguous, but I guess it makes sense that Warner is doing all efforts in its first week to get that #1 debut there.

Another highly anticipated set arrived just before the fireworks: Madonna's Confessions II, which looks set for a six-figure debut. The Warner superdiva's sequel to the beloved 2005 album Confessions on a Dance Floor was the beneficiary of a unique promotion on the hook-up app Grindr. Anticipation for the set has clearly been genuine, a testament to Madge's ongoing pop-cultural relevance.
