An average of 12M people in the UK are watching it. It's absolutely massive event TV. Everyone is talking about it.

I will say though that last year had WAY more pop culture 'moments' and memes/quotes spawning from it. Celia's fart, her wailing at the well, 'put the pussy in it', Alan murdering her, Alan laughing during the 'I am a faithful' line, Alan and Jonathan's banter before they found out they were Traitors, 'MAYBE SOMEONE'S BEEN RECRUITEDDDDDDDD', 'flabbergasted' etc are still popping up on social media with huge engagement a year later.

I really can't think of anything from this series besides maybe Miranda dancing to Touch for a few seconds and even that is a stretch.

For ME this series is not event TV is what I was saying and it's the first time I've felt like that watching any UK series of The Traitors.

I think the Traitors went wrong with getting rid of Sharon when they did . She had a lot of heat on her and would have likely gone that last round table . They should have gotten rid of one of the males like Micheal or James B .

I’m also not a big fan of what James A did either tbh . He essentially threw Maya under the bus also potentially Kenny as well .

I also think there needs to be a major overhaul in terms of the challenges for next season. It was pretty much established from Season 1 that the viewers saw challenges as a chance to go to the bathroom or to scroll on their phones but I've never saw so many complaints about them until this year. They really need to start intertwining the overall Traitors game into them and get rid of the endless 'one group runs around a forest collecting stuff while the other group waits for them to be in communication' type tasks and start incorporating challenges that stir up the paranoia and drama between players. It's no surprise that the one challenge this year - with the blindfolds - where Traitors were actually involved in sabotaging was the one that got the most acclaim from viewers.

I appreciate they're limited with what they can do in terms of location but after seeing four civilian seasons, two celebrity seasons and three/four USA seasons (also set in the Scottish castle) people are getting sick of seeing the church with the masks, the hut with the haunted sound effects and the building-a-giant-explosive-by-the-lake stuff.

It's a strange show in that so many people are GLUED to the screen for the start and finish of the episode and then not giving a shit about the middle part.

It'd why I just follow online and don't watch it. The challenges are utter drivel and have no bearing on the game, yet take up 3/4 of an episode.

Sounds like James A went off thd boil, producers stepped in, but it ruined the game anyway.

Yea banishing Sharon was the wrong call, they should have went with Bash as someone who doesn't have much heat on him, even Romesh (although I'd have hated that). James A is a fanny, if he didn't want to be a traitor that badly he should have just said no in the beginning, he owed it to the game to at least try and stay secret. Maya is in trouble, I can't see past a Kenny solo win now, I think this is the first year where I've actually been more on the faithful side. In an ideal world Romesh wins for me tbh.

I think you just have to sit back in a celeb series and remember that the stakes are low for the celebs. The money isn’t important to them so they focus more on winning the game and how much screen time they can get. James A reluctantly begged to be a traitor because his game would be over straight away otherwise which was a shame because Amol was ready to do it. Realistically, James should have refused and been murdered (I’ve seen one player do that on another series) but in all fairness it was a terrible twist to begin the game with.

Then you have Richard and later James A outing themselves as traitors. Neither would do that in the civilian game because they all want the money.

The celebs all Knowing each other doesn’t help. It hindered them getting a traitor in the last series and they’ve only gotten the most obvious ones until now in this one. There’s no mistrust with some of them which is what dawned on Michael in last night’s episode.

I think this year the production team chose the traitors poorly. Richard I don’t believe for a second really even knew the rules of the game, they wanted a big name. Maya was more into it but she’s been boring to watch and hasn’t really had to do anything. Letting the traitors pick from then on has been poor because they just don’t know what to do. Choosing James A to try and cover Richard when he went straight away. Choosing Hannah when she already had heat with no intention of actually throwing her under the bus. Only Kenny was an inspired pick.

Last year, Jonathan, Cat and Alan made for good watching. Each had a different personality and it was interesting to see how they coped. This time not as good.

But as I said, you can’t hold a Celeb one to the standards of a civilian series. I don’t think anything necessarily needs revamping because the show is still pretty entertaining. So people might not care about the challenges, others do. I just feel some people are just desperate to see the writing on the wall for a popular show.

Yep. We're seeing a television show become a cultural phenomenon not seen since the days of peak X-Factor/Big Brother in the mid 2000's. I really think this series is probably going to be the peak in terms of ratings for the UK franchise and it's a shame most people are complaining about literally EVERYTHING instead of appreciating the fact we're able to collectively watch a TV show together around the country and discuss it the next day with friends, family and colleagues again for the first time in almost two decades.

I actually think Maya has been a good traitor but she’s essentially had to carry the weight majority of the Season due to the Traitors she was with from the beginning stages (Richard James A, Hannah) being terrible . If it was her and Kenny from the start with someone else I think it would have worked out a lot better.

I really don’t think Maya’s been that good. She’s stayed under the radar which isn’t too hard to do in a celeb series with so many characters out there. She’s not had to do very much so there’s been little skill involved. She has been very poor at picking other traitors. Even Kenny who was the good pick, was suggested by James A-didn’t Maya want to go for Joanne?

And then last night the minute she gets any heat it’s toys straight out the pram. She’s been more lucky than anything.

Despite the massive ratings this series has lacked a major iconic moment or faithful / traitor. More of a watch out of habit than a I can’t wait to watch it.

I don’t know if it’s the 8pm time slot where it feels a bit watered down and less tense / dramatic or if I’m just so invested in how chaotic and unfiltered Big Brothers been this year that I just want drama

😆.

The last Celebrity Series was brilliant but this one much less so!

Agreed, Big Brother has really shown it up this year and it’s a shame that’ll never reach the heights it has just because it’s an older show. That’s probably why I’ve felt the Traitors has been so boring this year in comparison

I'm surprised they went with Michael. He seemed too obvious.

Gutted they went for Michael. The Faithful may struggle now.

Pleased with those two as winners.

Deserving winners. Unfortunately for James and Leigh Anne they just couldn’t shake suspicion and made some little mistakes towards the end that cost them. I wouldn’t have minded a Kenny win but I was just so glad Maya did go out.

Oh I’m not happy hahahaha Leigh-Anne being banished because of vibes and Kenny messing it up by voting for end game and then James B being banished, good god. Kenny’s move especially, not even CPR could revive that choke.

So happy for Bash!! ❤️ A good ending to what’s sadly been a bit of a mid series overall in comparison to others.
