Its a really good strong album , but as @WhoOdyssey said its not really the sort of album youd put on loop most of the tracks are long and heavy in context so you either love it or you dont

Sure - when he has to pay off his victims and all the other scandals that have gone on regarding him. I would also question why people would want to listen to his music. People have been cancelled f

'Eenie Meenie' up 26.5% on Spotify this week alone, so I definitely think that's coming for a reset.

  • If you're going to say that for this really quite strong second day hold you could say that for nearly every new album that gets released.

I probably won't play his album in full again, just play my faves as the project is too long and boring in parts

Stick Season the album is double platinum and the song 5xP and he had a mammoth tour so obviously he SHOULD do well. He might not even get a third top ten hit from the album now which is surprising if you consider the amount of hype there has been.

I am not saying it's doing badly but obviously he had the chances to make it really big with this one.

Stick season grew in popularity it didnt exactly debut with spectacular numbers

And I dont think I have ever seen you say anything positive about anyone who isnt lady gaga

I do think there’s nuance to the conversation that, perhaps, it felt like Noah Kahan feels like he has potential to be HUGE in a “he’s everywhere” kinda way and he doesn’t feel like he’s reached that with this album. So maybe it doesn’t feel like he’s capitalised on that - a bit like how people felt with The Giver and The Subway maybe?

But that’s not to say him, nor Chappell, aren’t massive and doing very well. It’s just a different type of conversation. Two top singles from any album is a success by any metric and the hold is pretty decent, all things considered.

Exactly, Chappell is a good comparison. Both have big fanbase but somehow the new music after the breakout era just doesn't, idk, explode? It just gets released, does pretty well and that's it.

Not sure why things have to get so personal so quickly when this is a discussion forum and the posts made clearly allow for an interesting discussion to be had?

You can counter a point / disagree with it without resorting to petty personal comments. It makes your argument a lot more sound that way.

It’ll be interesting to see Noah it holds up, I only finished listening to it today. I think heavy is a good description. Lol at RMI going back to No.1.

But Day 2 holds are rarely ever stable. So I really don't know what was to be expected? It's actually wild that he can have every album track inside the top 200 and someone commented "I guess the Noah Kahan fans didn't love the album" on a day that, as chart followers, we all know is not kind to album drops. I don't think the Chappell/Noah comparison makes any sense to me? This is an album drop compared to singles drops where the focus on those mediums are consumed very differently. Also I don't think it helps when that same user comments the same thing (worded slightly differently each time) each time an album debuts big and experiences the same decline the following day. This isn't the first time they've been called out for doing this. Just always pessimistic & negative all the time. It's boring.

I'm not even a Noah fan. The complete opposite actually. I've only heard 'Stick Season' & 'Homesick' and he's not for me at all. But it really does just get to a point.

But meh, anyway... Stream 'COMING OF AGE' by METTE instead plz and thank you x

I think the original comment sounded like a dig rather than someone looking to have an informed debate about the success or non success of the album. Hence the responses, and as Tafty said the same poster does this all the time.

Interesting that on Apple this morning many of the big climbers over the past 24 hours have been from Noah Kahan’s album (plus Michael Jackson). It will be interesting to see whether it is similar on Spotify.

Spotify has updated and the Michael Jackson biopic is continuing to have an effect, he has three songs in the top 50 now:

up 15 Billie Jean (+8)

up 26 Beat It (+19)

up 48 Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough (+12)

two of his songs are also new entries:

ne 145 Chicago

ne 195 Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'

'Chicago' seems quite random as a track from that posthumous Xscape album

Chicago has over 600m streams on Spotify so not that random.

Yeah I checked out its stream count after doing a double take just then! Didn't realise it was popular. Fair enough then, on paper it looked a bit random that something like that was higher than a signature song such as 'Thriller' for example *_*
