Saturday at 22:072 days Wake Me Up is one of my all-time GA faves. Such an effortlessly cool, sassy track for a talent show act at the time!
Yesterday at 00:181 day 'Wake Me Up' was my favourite GA song at one point. So fun.The video is ICONIC! Doing their hair and make up whilst also doing some choreo on motorbikes?

Yesterday at 13:221 day “Wake Me Up” I probably wouldn’t put in GA’s absolute A tier but it’s very good and well produced. I think this was single #7 and I expected the quality to really be going downhill by this point but it wasn’t.
Yesterday at 15:061 day Girls Aloud - Wake Me Up - A Banging track & it does feel rather underrated considering the stellar discography they had. This marked the perfect closer to their 2nd album campaign & what a killer run of singles 'The Show'-'Love Machine'-'I'll Stand By You'-'Wake Me Up'. I know 'Jump' was on the album as well, but I consider that as more apart of their debut album campaign.
Yesterday at 16:421 day Author 09 The 411 - Dumbavg: 7.92👑 Pop Royalty: 11 (ElectroBoy), 10 (Viper*, Dobbo, Paddington James, ...ready for it, HarryInnanen, Tafty)❌ Pop Flop: 3 (Billy.), 4 (Henessy Lake)The top 10 continues to unfold with a girl-group back-to-back as The 411 are next to exit, with a 7.92 average. The 411, named after Mary J Blige's album What's the 411?, consists of members: Carolyn Owlett, Tanya Bryson, Tisha Martin and Suzie Furlonger. Bryson and Martin originally sang together as backing vocalists on Lemar's cover of Al Green's 'Let's Stay Together' and attracted positive attention from a Sony Music employee, who encouraged them to stick together, but also recruit more members for a proper project. Owlett grew up on the same street as Bryson, then Furlonger completed the line-up, after a chance meeting when she visited London for the Noting Hill Carnival. 'On My Knees' was released as their first single in 2004 and charted at #4. 'Dumb' was then pencilled in as single #2 from their debut album Between the Sheets. This song featured in an advert for Lux soap, featuring hot property Sarah Jessica Parker fresh off Sex and the City, in the lead up to its release. So the public got a taste for the chorus before hearing the song in full.'Dumb' was another hit for the group and became their highest charting song, when it peaked at #3 in the UK. Fellow Pop Princesses 2 track 'These Words' by Natasha Bedingfield was at #1 that week, while 'Babycakes' by 3 Of A Kind sat at #2. The girls narrowly beat out a fellow new entry in 'She Will Be Loved' by Maroon 5 at #4 - no mean feat when that has over 2 billion streams nowadays! The 411 were riding high but only briefly, as releasing third single 'Teardrops' in the competitive festive market turned out to be a blunder, when it missed the top 20 altogether. It'd be fun if The 411 got an 11 and indeed they did, courtesy of ElectroBoy. The also received a 4 to complete their group name, but it wasn't quite their lowest score - instead a 3 from Billy.
Yesterday at 16:521 day There was a time I was OBSESSED with this. I probably prefer On My Knees now but it’s still enjoyable enough. Teardrops was done so dirty - it didn’t deserve to be the song to kill their career. Their short chart history was weirdly similar to Stooshe: #4 debut, #3 more poppy second hit followed by an ill-advised not-completely-original ballad that tanks and misses the top 20. 😲
Yesterday at 19:071 day I still reference ‘Dumb’ to this very day. It’d be a smash now too I reckon. It’s so fun!A big girl group fave for me.
Yesterday at 19:161 day There haven't been a lot of songs that I have particularly strong feelings about in this rate really but still going pretty in line with how I rated them myself results wise, I gave every song in the top 12 at least 7/10 (no t.A.T.u.-esque outlier this time x).A bit of a shame that 'Move Ya Body' just missed out on the top 10, that was one of a couple of songs that I'd not heard for a while that it was good to hear again when doing my rate, same with 'Dumb' actually so good that that one made it in at least. A little surprising to see Girls Aloud as low as 10th, would have thought that song might be a bit higher regarded, but not one of my own big GA faves. 'Only U' deserved a spot in the top 10 as well! Both Britney and Christina's offerings on this compilation were pretty mediocre - I am not particularly a fan of either version of 'My Prerogative'.
17 hours ago17 hr The 411 - Dumb, That was such a bop back in the day & thought they'd go onto a long career, but one flop single & they were dropped, which was brutal. I remember their album 'Between The Sheets' & loved the song 'Chance' on it & that should have been a single.
