Poor Drake. If it was Canada or US, he’d be thrashing Sam. It goes to show that they’re not so obsessed with Rein Me In over there like here

You could say that about any artist that’s bigger in one country over the other.

RMI charted for the first time a few weeks ago in the USA and has climbed to #64 so far.

  • Or perhaps we aren’t as obsessed with Drake?   I think after over a decade you need to come to terms with the fact this is how most people consume music now and so this is how the chart is compiled.

  • FFS Drake. The Ebola of the music world.

The majority of the album charts are fraudulent -

Madonna - Finally Enough Love (70 Weeks)

Killers - Rebel Diamonds (98 Weeks)

Phil Collins - The Singles (339 Weeks)

George Michael - TwentyFive (459 Weeks)

And all the others wouldn’t have anywhere near as many weeks in the Top 100 if they weren’t just essentially streaming playlist albums.

Madonna may have spent 70 weeks in the charts but has not sold in the regions of the other three. Madonna's has sold 320,000 which is not much for 70 weeks on the chart but saying that it only spent 5 weeks in the top 40.

I’m hoping Olivia Rodrigo drops another single to tie with her album

Indeed Olivia Rodrigo drops her new single 'The Cure' this Friday so there's a good chance that will (at least temporarily) displace 'Rein Me In'.

It's been pretty obvious since at least Sunday that Drake wasn't going to be #1.

It's been looking likely yes, but not 100%. I just hope this isn't one of those chart weeks that throws up a last minute surprise!

It was impossible for Drake to go number 1 on singles with the way his number 1 song keeps changing. Is he even gonna get the no2 at this point?

Looking like Iceman is gonna be the only album in the top 5 he will have. If guess he'd end up with 1, 6, 7 in albums.

Also keep in mind since its release, the streams have just defaulted to this rather than The Immaculate Collection or Celebration.

I’m surprised they done nothing with it - most ESC songs get a remix, Eurovision edit and for the past few years a physical release.

This is because most years, the song is released by a record label...LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER's song was self-released. The record label on Spotify is even listed as "LOOK MUM NO LABEL" 😆

Yes, and?

If you've got a point here, can you please make it already.

I’ll make my point to you, kindly STFU. But seriously, my point is streaming can die a horrible death

I hate to break it to you but streaming isn't going to die any kind of death, horrible or otherwise, in the near future. Why not just embrace it?

When Spotify went down the other day, I laughed so hard and I said to myself, thank god for physical. It’s also nice listening to it with no interruptions. When I buy compilations, I only buy compilations that cater to the collector market and not the casual market. I prefer albums with songs I don’t already have

Sam Fender is just really not a thing over here. People Watching didnt chart in the billboard 200, RMI is doing good for essentially an unknown with a new breakout star

He has number 2 on Spotify with Janice STFU which is 4 sales behind 2 right now so it's looking likely he'll be number 2 officially
