“I try not to overthink songs,” Zara Larsson told Apple Music in 2019. It seriously needs a revamp. They're so lenient on old songs being reset and all of that these days. Also, many songs fall down super slowly.

Talk about an unexpected career trajectory. In 2007, 23-year-old Calvin Harris released I Created Disco, a cheeky shot across dance music’s bow that presented him as Scotland’s brow-arched answer to LCD Soundsystem. Fast forward a few years, and the scruffy fellow playing house-party host in the “Merrymaking at My Place” video is suddenly baring oil-slicked abs on Emporio Armani billboards. Tweaking chart rules can only do so much when actual fresh new hits just aren't breaking through - this is a wider industry problem than just the UK charts in my view.

yeah tbh as annoying as it can be i actually think these resets have made the charts a bit more interesting as the number of 2026 new hits breaking through is scarily low so at least it spices the chart up a bit with songs like lush life, just the way you are etc having resuegances
