I try to not be too mopey about the state of the charts (we got enough of that on here), but what an awful week.

No new entries or climbers into the top 40 for the first time and an unnecessary reset for Wonderwall, when it should be on permanent ACR. Can’t see any benefit to letting it back on SCR at this point like the fleetwood mac ones a few weeks ago. If the point of ACR is to boost new music into the top end of the chart, these resets are not doing new music any favours.

Blame OCC for randomly resetting songs just for fun

But as much as Iove both Sam Fender and Olivia Dean, I just can't stand Rein Me In at #1 anymore. I bet it will still be top 20 in November.

More like top 10

As long as it goes ACR before December, that’s the main thing

Unless there’s a surprise Taylor drop I can’t see anything challenging RMI for a few weeks apart from potentially ‘Three Lions’ if England do well.

So RMI haters your choice is - Sam and Olivia or England smashing it at the World Cup 🤣

Just noticed it shows positions outside the top 100 for albums that are re-entering, West End Girl is #95 and it says it was #163 last week, sorry if this has already been discussed but I’ve never seen it before!

They’ve been doing it for a while - I’m hoping this is an indication of a Top 200 published chart coming! At least we’ll see some movement and newer artists entering.

I'm willing to bet that the 101-200 positions most weeks are at least 80% just more greatest hits albums / ancient studio albums with 3 or 4 streaming hits that are just slightly lower profile than the dozens that never leave the top 100.

(unless you mean for the singles chart, but the OCC don't even calculate more than a top 100 under the main chart rules let alone publish it. Still not sure if it's even intentional that they now show previous week 101-200 positions for albums or if that's just a weird glitch that still hasn't been noticed)

Yeah I think it's one of a series of glitches that seem to have appeared recently, along with formerly starred-out songs having a 'last week' of -1, and Despacito now showing as two separate chart entries from before and after Bieber was credited.

Biography

Steeped in classic country, contemporary pop, and rootsy Southern rock, Ella Langley's songs showcase her unfiltered songwriting and gritty yet honeyed voice. While scoring hits like 2022's "Damn You," the Alabama-raised singer/songwriter penned Elle King's similarly outspoken "Out Yonder." Langley's banner 2023 included the release of her EP Excuse the Mess -- which featured the singles "Country Boy's Dream Girl" and "That's Why We Fight (featuring Koe Wetzel)" -- the Tanner Usrey duet "Beautiful Lies," and her Grand Ole Opry debut, all of which led up to the 2024 release of her booze-stained debut album, the Billboard 200-charting hungover, which included her Hot 100 Top 40 debut, "You Look Like You Love Me" (featuring Riley Green). She and Green again paired up for 2025's "Don't Mind if I Do." - Apple Music

Absolutely the definition of a slow burn. What a chart run. cheer

Who would have thought those 5 weeks at 35 would lead to a gradual climb to the top 10.

#90 HUGEL & SOLTO - Jamaican (Bam Bam) (NEW)

#95 Saxboy Billy - The Puerto Rico Song (NEW)

The only 2 new entries in entire top 100, this must be the worst chart ever. In fact is it even a singles chart anymore? I do not understand Wonderwall being reset yet again either.

Glad this gave Ari a #1 after her last era didn't have a #1 hit here.

The should have been #1 we can't be friends redeemed.

To be fair, there had been actually quite lot of action in the recent weeks (Drake, Ariana, Taylor, Olivia) so one super quiet week isn't really surprising. Those come once in a while and next week there should be 4-5 debuts again.
