At least Wet Wet Wet had the decency to delete their single by this point..

It spent another 20 weeks top 75 though 🤭

This knocked CoComelon off the top of the video streaming chart

Did the Wets actually delete their song or was it just a marketing ploy? Either way Whigfield would've knocked them off after 15 weeks anyway.

They got their label to delete it

I'm pretty sure it was a gimmick to try and equalise with Bryan Adams, knowing Whigfield was coming - even if that isn't the official line.

Love Is All Around sold 65k in its 15th and final week at number 1 and Saturday Night sold 149k in its first week at number 1

Three new entries in the entire top 100! Feck its woeful. Maybe just end the singles chart altogether. it doesn't resemble anything worth keeping. How will the next generation have nostalgia for the excitement of the charts?

And in deletion week the Wets sold 104k at #2.

I hope that once Rein Me In breaks the record, it starts to have its decline. We are desperately in need of a new number 1. Don't know what can be done but the OCC need to look at how to freshen up the charts.

Rein Me In is better than Frankie Laine I Believe so I dont mind it getting the record but gosh we should have had more #1s this year.

Elsewhere, I will be the only one on here who is glad Alyssa Grace - Bloodstream is back in the top 40, great and powerful song about a sad and disturbing situation. Acoustic folk pop isn't usually my thing at all!

This goes to show how Rein Me In as literally took over the singles chart this year lol

It's a slow period for the charts but I don't think that justifies ending the entire thing. Just 2 years ago, we had loads of huge hits all taking off at the same time - the likes of Espresso, Beautiful Things, Lose Control, A Bar Song (Tipsy), etc were all huge at a similar period and the bar for top 10 was really high. Things come in waves, there'll be an improvement when the industry gets its shit together.
