f*** streaming. Physical all the way. To all those people loving streaming, they can remove your favourite song or album without explanation. One reason to hate streaming and love physical

I don't entirely disagree but this has nothing to do with Rein Me In breaking the record.

Im confused do you want them to release another physical to celebrate getting the record ?

Rein me in really looking see to break all the record books now,

I wonder Sam or Olivia do anything further to help it along.

I don’t think they’ll do anything but I’m sure they’ll acknowledge it if it happens.

Its wild that they’ve only performed the song 4 times in total - twice on Sam’s tour before it was released and twice on Olivia’s tour, we’ve had no TV, festivals etc., performances and no TV/radio promo from them for it.

That's only one aspect though. It's one of the reasons I still choose to buy music I really love, even if it's only a digital file... but for most people buying music isn't good value for money, they could spend £30-£40 on one vinyl (or let's say £10 on a CD?) and then also buy the kit to play them on; or they could utilise their phones they already have to just listen to anything they want to for a comparatively small amount a month. There's clearly so many valid reasons for a lot of people to love streaming, even if you personally don't.

Sam performed it recently with Lewis Capaldi at one of his shows, and TV and radio mean nothing now... but still impressive that it's still raking in new listeners after all this time!

What TV promo is there nowadays in the UK

There’s not tons (and obviously some artists wouldn’t touch some of it) but there’s -

Graham Norton Show

The One Show

Sunday Brunch

Saturday Night Live UK

There are also seasonal opportunities on Strictly Come Dancing and BGT.

Rein me in 18 week acr rules should never change Down 25% think few year back change im sure use be high

Not too go too off topic lol, but Michael McIntyre’s Big Show does around 5m with iPlayer included, Strictly around 8m. They’re probably the biggest that has live performances.

Other “broadcast” TV shows (mainly dramas really) frequently get 5-8m viewers with iPlayer, ITVX, etc. It’s not all about the live rating these days. EastEnders is far from being one of the most popular shows though.

Average 3-4 million for The One Show, Graham Norton 3 million, Sunday Brunch 800k - decent for most artists to get that kind of exposure.

Be interesting to see Gracies numbers shes hardly doing well on streaming so must be doing really well on physicals

She did far better on Spotify on day 1 than she did with her last album (that only had 1 new song charting and that was the song with Taylor). Also her debut album made the top 3 here and that was before she ever had any hit singles.

Did she really though? Spotify streaming numbers were significantly higher on the whole in June 24
