so the lore in Semi 1 was that after Vaskla notified us that the order he submitted votes were in the opposite way, Jupiterdonia got kicked out of qualifying threshold :( and Ajanaeda got in last minute!!!

Oh that is a fantastic outcome, my 18 winning! <3 Congrats Harve, I only saw the discussion about it today and would've never thought it could win, it's my favourite discovery in BJSC in a long time and I really must check out the full album. Some of my big pointers from Sovarasma, Jadakissnia, Eledan and Lentyll in the top 10 too is great to see. I didn't like this one as much as her last entry, but quite neat that Dani Sylvia got another 2nd place right after her last one.

33rd for a sixth (!) time it is then, again I knew this one could well get lost in the fray so I'm just glad it wasn't lower, thanks to all who voted, especially @Colm for that top pointer <3 If you don't already know them and liked this one, I would also recommend Sail and Find Love which were new releases this year (this one is an older track finally made available on streaming from their compilation of non-singles and fan favourites From a Hole in the Floor to a Fountain of Youth, which was a pretty good introduction to them for me x).

Thank you Addy, always a great flight experience! Unusually for me, I do actually have a song lined up for next time and it's got a familiar Terra Avium style to it, so let's see if it can break my middling streak x

Well that 5th place in the semi does mean I've now finished in every top 10 semi final position at least once! Just 11th-13th missing from the top 20 in fact.

anyways, I didn’t vote for the winner but it was giving Dance Moms energy in a fun way and it’s always nice to see a different genre get the crown, so congrats Harve! My predicted top 2 battle was Aeroche vs Hendinia, and it was great to see them top 5 🥰 most of my votes ended up in the bottom though, justice for Klum Rep/Flynnonda/Yehesi in particular. I’m surprised Yehesi did so badly, I felt like it had a lot of fans???

Checking in from my nocturnal catchup (I'll go try and get a couple more hours' sleep in a minute x) - I think the only correction to the final scoreboard is that Bronzil should indeed have 1 more point (as Jim already pointed out, between scoreboards 9 and 10 Bronzil got 24 points (3 from Yehesi, 8 from Aeroche and 13 from N DNTN) but only went up 23 points on the scoreboard so the spreadsheet may be missing 1 point from one of those nations, ofc the 1 extra point doesn't change their position). That and the tiebreak for Cor Lupus should say 3 18s. x

Based on what's been posted in the thread I also have both Aelandor and Trifoski 18 points lower than in your final scoreboard - you posted that both got no 18s but you only announced 57/59 of the 18s, leaving out Jupiterdonia and N DNTN. Neither of them gave 1-15 points to either Aelandor or Trifoski (or included commiserations) but I'm assuming Jupiterdonia gave 18 to Aelandor and N DNTN gave 18 to Trifoski? Could be the other way round but that seems less likely.

I'll comment more tomorrow anyhoo (and belatedly write up my usual voting highlights as I didn't get around to doing that) but well done @Harve on finally joining the 2 wins club over 13 years after your first win! I'm now 3 for 6 on voting for winners this year yay ~ And thanks Addy for the hosting efforts even though I missed them live again, this was a cool twist on the reveals, I did clock that Skall were going to have a massive boost from the 18s being added on but still wasn't exactly obvious that they'd hold on until the last moment!

Yes, indeed, both Aelandor and Trifoski received 18s from Jupiterdonia and N DNTN. My eyes were probably crossed as I was rushing through those results. 😅 I'll edit the original post and the 18s score table to show both countries correctly.

That said, I do know for a fact that the final scoreboard was copied and pasted from the original results spreadsheet, not from the version I was editing live while revealing the 18s.

So the final standings themselves were always correct <3.

28 is a good placing considering place 19 in the semi with equal points to the 21st. I think for the next contest I will step away from pop and try something different.

I’m definitely not the main audience for this kinda song but I understand its appeal for sure and it’s always nice, as I said with Joshua Idehen, to see a song with a lot of 18s win and not just be polarising, but genuinely the most popular song so can’t be argued with. Excited to see you host!

4th was EXACTLY what I predicted for myself in the end so I’m thrilled to have racked up another top 10, with what I now assume is my record of 5 in a row, going off what Pav said last contest. It seemed to grab so many 5-1s which probably speaks to it being a genuinely appreciated song rather than one people are wildly excited for so 4th feels appropriate for that.

Pleasantly surprised about FARC - a very good shout from Leww out of nowhere there. Another solid pop song from Dani Sylvia, who I obviously enjoy having sent her twice, although her newest material kinda isn’t giving so makes sense that this was from a previous era. And YAY for not being way out for Leww this time - I was hesitant to predict you to win because of how it’s gone for you so far this year but there was no way this banger wasn’t gonna resonate.

Final spreadsheet has my score from Yehesi as 2 instead of 3, so that's where I should be 1 higher with a final score of 181. Doesn't change where I finish (though it does mean I was 10th as on more votes than Jade before the 18s were added).
