How can you tell? Bryan’s and Frankie’s have been around decades whereas RMI is a year old, just because you aren’t a fan doesn’t mean others think the same. I think the guitar part at the start is rather memorable and nostalgic. Again, though, that’s just me.

I do think Rein Me In being #1 for such a long time has made me realise how much of a bubble of life I’m in though, more than ever. I’m getting these images in my head of what straight pubs look like - full of people enjoying RMI with their hands in the air and discussing how great ‘Ordinary’ is.

On a more serious note, I think music is like everything else so divided up in terms of people enjoying it and streaming being used by most people now that this is the way things are. It’s like big moment TV now rarely people watch things in mass events apart from a few exceptions.

As a chart fan I can’t say I’ve ever enjoyed any song staying at number one for an extended period, like double figures, even if I liked the actual song.

Yeah, by that point it looked like it had peaked at #6 in its second week and was steadily bobbing around outside the top 10. Crazy to think!

I always thought this, Dai Dai yes was a World Cup song which was lifted by this promo but it’s still new to the charts, is now elevated on big playlists by its increasing popularity and could continue to rise over the next few weeks and months.
