My silver medal went to Cabaret Nocturne so my top 2 book-ended the top 10 *.*Glad Machinedrum did really well too, not quite pulling off my winning prediction but great that it's still a new personal best in this for Jim 🥳Meanwhile... last pfffffft. Very happy my favourite from Cabaret Nocturne held onto the top 10 too.Delighted with a new personal best in Club Bizarre that also being my eighth song contest finish in 2nd on Buzzjack, with 7 of them coming in the last 18 months 2nd also surpasses my 7 finishes of "DNQ" as my most frequent. Sunday at 21:455 days Congrats Dan, not close at all in the end! I gave 7 points to Machinedrum but Commander Tom was only just behind on 6 points so not upset at that blocking it. Great to see 2 of my top 3 squeezing into the top 10, well done Henessy on a strong first result here and Nine also just about hanging on in there. Gave 1 point to Absolom as well so half of the top 10 were in my votes, not bad. Boooo at my 12 pointer finishing in the bottom 3 though (was thinking it felt familiar me giving 12 points to a Pavi entry that gets barely any points from anyone else and indeed the same thing happened 2 contests ago with Nazar - y'all need to develop more taste xx).Oop at me getting 0 further points after Pavi's votes and slumping down to the bottom of the top 20 - I guess that's more in line with what I initially expected but a bit disappointing after some initial false hope x (still beat Kuedo from the first Instrumentals edition by 1 point though so technically partially achieved that aim, but it is a lower position both absolutely and relatively). Forgot to mention it in my commentary but this entry is actually even from the same label as Kuedo (Planet Mu) which was a neat coincidence.Wish I could have squeezed Jlin into my votes as that definitely doesn't deserve last place! I didn't have enough time or imagination to come up with something crazier than hiding the points for some songs.The Rocketdaan thing gives me a good opportunity to hide who sent what until the right time. except for that one slip up which I hope not too many saw or remember xoIt has taken longer than I expected to get the results done so you deserve to know sooner than later. Sunday at 22:035 days I was lucky there wasn't one more voter, because I probably wouldn't have stayed 10th. Which is totally fine, and I'm definitely satisfied with the result, but it would've felt a bit disappointing to drop out of the Top 10 with the last voter. As for my own entry, I already knew and loved this one. It's simply the kind of music I genuinely enjoy within this genre. As for most of the other electronic styles in this edition, I just don't have much listening experience with them, so I haven't really developed an ear for that kind of music. That made voting quite difficult, so in the end I based my votes on the first impressions I noted down during the listening through.
