I was watching clips from byker grove on YouTube yesterday and was discussing with friends how wonderful it is to have fresh Geordie acts dominating the charts

I was talking to the old lady down the road yesterday about Frankie Laine and I said it was a shame Rein Me In overtook his I Believe record.

She had no idea what I was talking about!

I'll chime in and say I'm also not much of a fan of anything I've really heard from Jorja, most of it just washes over my head tbh. I don't really know what she looks like, and even if I did I'm gay so I'm not sure her appearance would have any real impact on her music. 🤣

I think Reddit threads can become a bit of an echo chamber at times, so it can be easy to think that everyone shares the same views as the people in there (when in reality, they're probably the minority of opinions!).

Good on you for recognising you shouldn't have jumped to that conclusion though, I've certainly never seen anything from Mango that suggests they would base their opinion on someone's music on the artist's looks!

And that’s the great thing about music - people can listen to and talk about exactly what they want, they also can have really strong opinions about the subjects too however it doesn’t change the fact RMI continues to be a record breaking hit heading towards its 22nd week at the top regardless of if people love it or ‘hate’ it.

Rein Me In wouldn’t have had this long at number 1 during a sales era. I can’t wait to see Sam Fender finally rescind his award to Andrew Ridgeley in the future
