10 hours ago10 hr A 25% uptick seems too loose a benchmark to be eligible for a reset anymore. Every time Liam Gallagher burps or Taylor Swift sneezes, their songs streams seem to increase by more than 25% and come back out of ACR yet again. I think 100% increase (doubling of streams) in a week should be the criteria. I'd imagine this would then only allow truly pop cultural or epic revival moments like the Kate Bush's RUTH for Stranger Things or Dolly Parton's passing to be reflected and mean a more exclusive and rarer set of oldies re-enter the charts in a way that seems appropriate in capturing the nation's mood on a given week. I get that is a subjective stance in itself but what is the alternative....?I get that some chart purists here dont want ACR at all and would be happy for Rein Me In to be Number One for the rest of eternity if thats what the bot driven playlists spit out for ever more as the most passively streamed track week in, week out but that would be the worst of all outcomes in my opinion...
