'Where Is My Husband?' had already dropped out of the Top 40 at Christmas, Mr Saunders

'Mr Brightside' could still get a new position if it's at #41...

I find it mad that the exact same party are involved between this and Good Girl, this still being a banger and the latter being tosh.

Lol at them paying tribute to Raye 😂 it'll be back soon I'd imagine!

Biography

Noah Kahan pens tender-hearted meditations on life’s ups and downs that are rustic enough for country cabins yet infectious enough for the pop charts. The singer-songwriter was born in 1997 and grew up on a farm in Vermont. He spent his youth refining his folk picking on guitar, banjo and mandolin while transforming his voice into the raspy falsetto captured on his debut hit, 2017’s “Hurt Somebody”. Recorded while bouncing between New York, LA and points in between, Kahan’s first two full-lengths, 2019’s Busyhead and 2021’s I Was / I Am, showcase an artist sharpening his pop instincts. When the COVID pandemic hit in 2020, Kahan returned to Vermont and—feeling nostalgic for his New England childhood—stripped his music to its gritty soul, resulting in 2022’s breakout album, Stick Season. Its viral title track later took Kahan all the way to the big time (thanks, in part, to an Olivia Rodrigo cover in 2023) and he went on to reimagine several Stick Season cuts—including a version of “Dial Drunk” featuring rapper Post Malone—that reflect a gift for shaping folk and pop into increasingly novel expressions. Kahan might have been a changed man after Stick Season, but on 2026 follow-up The Great Divide, he got back to doing what he does best: penning small-town stories with searing honesty that root themselves in your head and heart. “Stick Season is like doing shrooms and thinking you understand the entire world,” he told Apple Music. “The Great Divide is like three months later: ‘That was great and that was helpful but there’s a lot more we gotta figure out still.’” - Apple Music

Turns out the tape I'm using today means I'm only getting audio on the right channel, thus I'm gonna be in mono..

Glad this climbed, thought the resets would push it out.

It occurred to me the other day that Noah Kahan's music is like a not as good version of this:

Hoping Movin' to the Sun is no. 1 and knocks off Great Expection the top spot.

Biography

Throughout the 2010s, Los Angeles was America’s epicenter of forward-thinking Black music across the mainstream-to-underground spectrum. There were the hip-hop heavyweights of the Top Dawg Entertainment stable, the indie-rap provocateurs of the Odd Future crew, the electronic-jazz experimentalists of the Brainfeeder family—and standing at the intersection of all these game-changing forces was Steve Lacy. Born in Compton in 1998, Lacy (né Lacy-Moya) first surfaced as the teen wunderkind guitarist-producer for Odd Future offshoot The Internet, shaping its woozy funk atmospheres with beats he created on his iPhone. After The Internet’s 2015 opus, Ego Death, earned Lacy a Grammy nomination before he’d finished high school, his lo-fi approach attracted some high-profile clientele. He went on to leave his smudged fingerprints on J. Cole’s chart-topping 4 Your Eyez Only and Kendrick Lamar’s epochal DAMN., among many others. All the while, Lacy was laying the groundwork for his own solo career, updating Prince’s psych-soul auteurism for a post-Mac DeMarco bedroom-pop age on endearingly off-the-cuff singles like “Dark Red” and “C U Girl.” (That tightrope walk between R&B swagger and outsider aesthetics carries over to his guest features for urbano star Kali Uchis, indie kingpins Vampire Weekend, and avant-funk maestro Thundercat.) His reputation as a certified vibe-master well established, Lacy revealed more of himself on his 2019 full-length debut, Apollo XXI, using the epic alt-rap suite “Like me” to address his bisexuality and fear of coming out. But that sort of candor is perfectly suited to his musical m.o.—whether he’s beatmaking on his phone or opening his heart, Lacy always puts a premium on honesty and intimacy. With the release of his 2022 album, Gemini Rights, Lacy transitioned from hitmaking rookie to bona fide star, due in large part to his viral single “Bad Habit,” which dominated every corner of the internet thanks to its nostalgic, genre-averse sound. Relatable lyrics, adventurous productions, and deeply felt themes of love found, lost, and found again make Steve Lacy feel accessible, even as he continues his artistic ascent. - Apple Music
