I still think it’ll be an easy #1 for Taylor and physicals should keep it at the top for at least a 2nd week - what the hell is happening with streaming/new tracks in 2026, nothing seems to be sticking or getting numbers anywhere near what we used to see at the top consistently.

It's odd isn't it, you'd have thought as time went on more people would be streaming not less.

Let’s not forget Taylor’s release is essentially a deluxe album and they never do well regardless of the artist.

That’s a pretty crazy drop though!

Crazy that not even Taylor managed a 2nd day! Shame pink clouding is now the lowest of the 4 as it’s the best of them imo

Are streams down though overall or are more and more people choosing to listen to older songs rather than modern hits so it’s spread across the board.

My sisters 20 and half the time she’s listening to a mix of modern songs and a lot of random oldies from 2010 etc…

Yeah I think it's fair to remember that deluxe albums don't tend to perform quite as well, it's definitely not indicative of how Taylor's next proper lead will perform, though I did expect it to hold up a bit better.

It's got this week's #1 sewn up anyway, just intrigued to see what happens week 2 and whether she can stabilise and challenge for a second week without some conveniently-timed physicals.

I’m guessing as the market has matured there are more users listening to a wider variety of music rather than just the chart hits? It just feels like quite a sudden downturn though this year.

If the tracks keep dropping, even first day streams won't be enough to hold them up there. With the exception of Patient Zero ofc

Its number 2 over a track on Acr and it did nearly treble yesterday its not in any danger of missing number 1 yet

Sooo annoying Pink Clouding had the biggest percentage drop when it’s the best by far, these people are under spells!!!

I'm starting to think we're going to start seeing these level of streams & 2005 - 2007 level of sales in the chart again on a permanent basis soon. I think now that more of the matured generation are starting to stream, nostalgia is going to become more prominent in the years to come & newer music will just be a second thought.

It doesn't help that even the biggest of artists nowadays - Taylor, Ariana etc are releasing more mundane style of music & has seem to have forgotten how to make a upbeat, catchy pop song. Where are the songs like Shake It Off, Blank Space, Ready For It? Etc from Taylor & songs such as Break Free, Into You, Greedy, 7 Rings from Ariana?

I just don't know why artists like making "Radio 2" style of music all of a sudden when in the earlier part of this decade, we had loads of upbeat pop songs....Lady Gaga, Dua Lipa & Little Mix in 2020 for example.

Not surprised at the Taylor songs falling so fast. They're just not that great although sad to see my favourite "Pink Clouding" having the biggest decrease snif

Taylor will get to #1 quite easily still thanks to the big first day (I'm thinking the first day was ~15-20k sales). Plus the music video premiere tonight/tomorrow will boost the songs streams quite a bit on Monday when it's released to Spotify.

⚠️ the Taylor top four on Apple Music has been broken already! HugeL is back up to #4 with Movin' To The SUNO, overtaking Pink Clouding

speaking of which, whilst Sybil managed to gain a credit on Free Your Mind, Imael Angel seemingly has lost it on Movin to the Sun ... albeit only on Spotify for now. probably trying to disassociate with her on account of her other releases being fully AI generated.

It's just what's current at the moment. It was only a few years ago the chart was full of artists jumping on dance tracks (Joel Corry, Sigala, Nathan Dawe etc..) and they were pretty much guaranteed to get some sort of a chart hit. Now I can't think of any of those that are managing chart hits.

Then Rap has seemed to fade off also (Ardee and Aitch both used to stream so well and get hits now they struggle)

Becky Hill is another artist that seems to have lost her shine, I can't think of anyone outside this forum that mentions are now that used to.

Just because its the best it doesn't mean people are that jazzed about the whole package enough to single it out

And she can activate her base to 'buy' a track 3 times over.

Its as if upbeat songs are seen as dated at the moment. Same with upbeat dance music.

I just feel that artists need to take a few more risks & not follow the trends. Just imagine how big Ariana's comeback would have been if she had released another Into You type single as the lead with a big singalong type chorus. Or if Taylor had released a full on Max Martin bop similar to Style. Artist's need to stop following what's big & take their own paths & aim to set the next trend.....just like Lady GaGa did in 2008/2009!

Not saying that they have to stick to their previous sounds but they can learn to expand on it & obviously as they grow, so should their lyrics go show maturity. Sticking to the formula works for someone like Adele who takes 5+ years to release a new album but if they are going to be constantly releasing, they need to stand out from the crowd & not release the same dreary music.

That's why the world seems so gloomy nowadays. Music use to lift people's spirits & put them in a good mood but the current trend, to me, puts more people in a negative mindset.
