It's SoundClash!

In this event we celebrate the one hit wonders of the 21st century so far.

In each round, two songs will go head to head to come out on top, with each credited artist only having a single UK Top 40 hit to their name. In each case, you're voting for your favourite song. The winning songs will then go into a grand collection of one hit wonders to be voted for once the opening rounds are complete.

These are the two songs going head to head this round;

ATC – Around The World (La La La La La) {#15, 2002} 🇩🇪

A Touch of Class (ATC) were a German-based Eurodance group best known for their worldwide hit Around the World (La La La La La).

Christine And The Queens – Tilted {#20, 2016} 🇫🇷

Christine and the Queens is the stage name of French singer, songwriter and producer Héloïse Letissier. Their music and performances are noted for their theatrical style, expressive choreography and exploration of identity and emotion.

You Decide!

Here is what we have had so far in this series of SoundClash;

Iglu & Hartly vs. ALMA

Vanessa Amorosi vs. Ten Walls

Divine Inspiration vs. Kent Jones

Newton Faulkner vs. Bridgit Mendler

Andreas Johnson vs. Nico & Vinz

DB Boulevard vs. Grace

Little Jackie vs. Wynter Gordon

O-Zone vs. Dynoro & Gigi D'Agostino

The Bravery vs. Alex Clare

Esmée Denters vs. Secondcity

Tilted is wonderful but Around The World is basically the blueprint for a lot of modern Euro influenced pop. A lot more popular now than it was when released but it had six weeks at No.1 for me back in the day. I voted for that.

'All Around The World' is a tune but am gonna go with 'Tilted' which is fantastic.

Tilting towards Christine and the Queens on this one!

Years ago, I sent a quite naff (in retrospective) cover of ATC to BJSC which was essentially an identical song with a rent-a-rapper. So I do like the song, but 'Tilted' is gorgeous.

I am really wondering that ATC is not taking this by storm.

I like 'Tilted' a lot, but it just doesn't compare to the greatness of ATC.

Love Tilted but Around The World is an all-time classic!!

ATC

ATC is fun but 'Tilted' is my favourite of the two! How incredible that became an actual hit.

@jimwatts finally got you to vote for something from the 2010s then! 😃

Yes and I voted for Secondcity in the last one too, though both were pretty close for me!

ATC hadnt heard this in ages and as soon as i saw it here i was playing it, great bop

ATC the original and in 2021 the Ava Max sample.

Both brilliant for their genres but I go back to Tilted a lot more these days.

Clearly ATC - have no prfound memories on the other song.

For me, I like the ATC song, it's got that xylophone sound throughout that reminds me of being in a sweet shop or something! However, I find Tilted to be more artistic in its form and it has aged well for a decade old!
