It's SoundClash!

In this event we celebrate the one hit wonders of the 21st century so far.

In each round, two songs will go head to head to come out on top, with each credited artist only having a single UK Top 40 hit to their name. In each case, you're voting for your favourite song. The winning songs will then go into a grand collection of one hit wonders to be voted for once the opening rounds are complete.

These are the two songs going head to head this round;

Metro Station – Shake It {#6, 2009} 🇺🇸

Metro Station are an American pop-rock band formed in Los Angeles in 2006, originally featuring Trace Cyrus and Mason Musso.

Vance Joy – Riptide {#10, 2014} 🇦🇺

Vance Joy is an Australian singer-songwriter known for his heartfelt lyrics, acoustic guitar sound and folk-pop melodies.

Riptide!

Shake It is brilliant fun whereas Riptide is one of my least favourite songs of all time so this is the easiest soundclash of the series so far.

Like both of these but voted 'Riptide'.

Shake It all the way

Extremely close between the two, I loooove them both but Shake It takes it.

Definitely Shake It - its nostalgic now!

Although Riptide is good and was influential in its folk pop sound for this decade definitely.

Probably 'Riptide' for me.

Metro Station's flop follow-up single was tons better.

Metro Station has been less in my face over the years than the other option, so going with that as the more enjoyable listening experience.

How about… neither?

(Voted for Shake It as I did enjoy it at the time)

Vance Joy.

Metro Station just edges it for me.

I voted for 'Riptide' but do enjoy both of these (and even heard 'Shake It' live when they supported Miley on tour many years ago lol)
