October 28, 200817 yr I suppose everyone's right but what I think the problem is-is that although these old favourites are fading out, there's nothing decent coming through to replace them. In the last two years, the only new artist whose album I've bought has been Duffy. I actually think today's music scene is in a shocking state. I don't think its in a bad state at all. I think its at one of it's best ever states for years, and as for new artists, there are quite a lot and even if only 1/4 of the newbies hang around for the next decade then it'll still be excellent.

Well, we'll have to agree to disagree. I much preferred 2006. Its gone down hill since then imo.

I think 2006 is almost impossible to top, however 2008 is still great for the industry, for the actual sound of the music its been crappy. I dislike the direction urban music has gone and generally mainstream music is starting to sound a bit repetitive and dull, with great songs but no amazing, standout songs. However thats more down to me and my changing musical taste than anyone else.

Whatever he wants, he gets and thats what happened with this pile of puke being #1. What sickens me is, only 29p goes to the charity. Don't people realise they are being taken for mugs? I have now washed my hands on the X-Factor show, as it just seems to be a manipulative attempt to coax people into funding Mr Cowell's pockets, does not recognise talent and plays on peoples emotions e.g. that guy whos wife died. The music industry is in a sorry state. Too many similar sounding artists and songs, and I feel there has been very little outstanding songs this year. On a good note, kudos to the Saturdays getting a top 10 album in the midweeks :)

Celine has a big fan base..the CD is the first proper compiliation of all her hits spanning 15 years since the start of her english career. Although it doesnt contain many new tracks, alot of people will probably buy this over christmas for the old hits and newer ones.
