SonyBMG imprint Laface had seen sales of more than 83,000 units of the Pink set by the close of play yesterday, while the Fiction act were lagging behind with 70,000 sales. However, a strong TV ad campaign, rumoured to have set Universal back £100,000, is being launched to try to capitalise on the weekend shoppers and fans of Snow Patrol are being tempted to buy the album along with a ticket for next year’s arena tour through a package on the band’s website. The 13-date tour takes in most major cities around the UK and Ireland and will be the band’s largest outing to date. Although tickets do not go on general sale until November 7, fans were being offered pre-sale tickets priced £30 (£32.50 in London) plus booking fee of £3.00/£3.25.
