March 1, 200917 yr If anyone's interested I sent a complaint email regarding last week's show, just to see what sort of response would come back... MY EMAIL: Please ask Reggie Yates to stop purposely mispronouncing artists names on the Chart Show. His constant screaming of acts such as "Lady Gaga" are extremely off-putting and have caused me to switch stations in recent weeks. I would prefer to listen to, and enjoy, the Official UK Top 40 singles chart when possible but unfortunately Reggie's presenting style and unnecessary screeching has prevented me from doing so. A fact-based, sensible format as adopted by Mark Goodier in the 1990s would be much preferred. RESPONSE: Thank you for you email regarding the Radio 1 Official Chart Show. I understand you feel Reggie Yates is a poor presenter and you often find his presenting style irritating. As I'm sure you can understand, it is rare for any television personality to meet the approval of everyone in our audience. We appoint our presenters on the basis of their experience and talent and we would never employ someone unless we had complete confidence that they could meet demands the particular programme or broadcast may have. Nevertheless your feedback is extremely important to us and I would like to assure you that I have registered all of your comments on our audience log for the attention of BBC programme makers and senior management. The audience logs are seen as important documents that can help shape decisions about future programming and content Thanks again for taking the time to e-mail us with your concerns. Regards Gillian BBC Complaints
