I actually changed my mind after a couple of listens. Now i do not have any songs i regret charting high. I think...

Hate That I Love You is great, in fact it's a song that I charted far too low, it only peaked at No.10 for me but should have gone top 5 at least

Sugababes feat Patti LaBelle - Lady Marmalade Live. #1

It's epic, but not #1 worthy. Especially against Queen Mutya's Just A Little Bit

As a rule, if I like an older song enough to chart it I will re-chart it.

Having done my chart for 3 years now, I'm getting to the point where a lot of songs I re-hear and really like and that puts me in a right QUANDRY as what to do as underperforming songs irritate me. This week I charted The Killers' 'Bones' for the first time because now I really like it - but I might have to stop doing that because there's bound to be more songs from 2006ish that I start liking again and want to chart.

To summarise, because I tend to re-chart songs pretty much all of them are at least as successful as they should be. I don't regret any of my #1s because they all capture my mood perfectly at the time - but for example Rihanna's 'Hate That I Love You', Mariah's 'I'll Be Lovin You Long Time' and others wouldn't get anywhere near #1 for me nowadays.

Number #1's wise, i cant really say i have any regrets. My least favorite of my chart toppers are Love Like This and Tattoo but looking back there was nothing else i like enough to have replaced them.

Then there are songs like Better In Time, Pocketful Of Sunshine, Devils Beat, Stone Cold Sober wish i prefer to a few of my #1's but there was so many brilliant songs relesead the same time as them that it just wasnt possible for them to get to #1.

Then there are things like Sex On Fire and Use Somebody which i now adore to pieces which i really should have charted. I dont think theres anything i regret charting at all, even Boom Boom Pow im starting to like again.

Obviously theres a huge list of songs that i should have charted higher and should have charted lower but i wont bore you with that.

  • 6 months later...

can't believe I never charted these two;

Melanie C - First Day Of My Life (should have been top ten)

Sarah Dawn Finer - I Remember Love (should have been top three at least :o)

and this I charted ridiculously low considering it's one of my most played songs from 2009...

Salem - Astronaut (#31)

David Guetta feat. Kelly Rowland - When Loves Takes Over [#20]

Can't believe I ever liked this. A disgrace to Coldplay.

Dizzee Rascal feat. Chrome - Holiday [#1 for 2 weeks]

Definitely NOT #1 worthy

Kings Of Leon - Notion [#14]

I do not recall why this was not a massive top 5 long runner.

Alina - When You Leave (Numa Numa) [#22]

WTF? Awful.

Noisettes - Never Forget You [#14]

Ditto Notion.

The Black Eyed Peas - I Gotta Feeling [#16]

Should have been at least top 10 even though I don't particularly like it any more.

Mr Hudson feat. Kanye West - Supernova [#2]

Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Heads Will Roll [DNC]

WTF?

Vagabond - Don't Wanna Run No More [#10]

Oh LAWLZ. I remember being really upset when this only made #41 officially as well. I do remember being seriously obsessed with this song though.

Tommy Sparks - Miracle [#56]

Sort of understandable as it was right at the end, but I can't imagine how I could have ever liked this.

Sub Focus - Let The Story Begin [#8]

I have no idea how this went top 10. I think it was just based off me being so obsessed with Rock It at the time. It fell to #42 the next week

Chase & Status - Indian Bits [#47]

I don't even remember this song.

Passion Pit - To Kingdom Come [#9]

HA. This is so laughably BAD. Thank god it wasn't Passion Pit's highest entry that week, as the superior Sleepyhead was #4.

Jeremih - Imma Star (Everywhere We Are) [#29]

Should have gone a bit higher.

Gossip - Love Long Distance [#41]

WHAT?

There are a lot more as well, I've made so many really bad choices in just 31 charts

The most significant one that I've left out here is:

Editors - Papillon [#1 for 1 week]

5 weeks in the top 60 pretty much says it all. Awful :(

02 LIGHTS - Ice [02.04.02.08.02.02.03.06]

This should've spent all four of those #2 weeks at #1 :nocheer:

My personal chart back in 2004 was heavily influenced by other posters. The worst offender being The Rasmus 'Gui;ty' which went 06-03-01-10-OUT. Nelly feat. Jaheim 'My Place' should've been no. 1 that week, but it entered at no. 2 then climbed to no. 1 - might sound like an odd choice but I really did like that song. Jaheim made that track with his soulful vocals. ^_^

Susan Boyle - Wild Horses (good song, but #1? No. That's why it only spent that one week in my top 20)

Cheryl Cole - 3 Words (Peaked at about #16 - can't stand it)

Jay-Z Ft. Mr Hudson - Forever Young (Peaked about #14 - not bad, but not top 20 worthy)

Alphabeat - The Spell (peaked at #9. Normally like the band, but this song was no good)

JLS - Everybody In Love (#2?)

The Saturdays - Forever Is Over (#5?)

Young Soul Rebels - I Got Soul (#1? Seriously? No wonder it only spent two weeks on chart)

X Factor Finalists - You Are Not Alone (only made #18, but it's awful)

Justin Bieber - One Time (About #10, but why?)

managed my Top 10:

Britney - 3 #4
