The Edge of Glory looks like a future #1 in the US though! :o

Just proof that radio stations are coming back to her after shunning Judas. I like the irony that our chart is far friendlier than the Billboard to new entries, yet Born This Way went straight to #1 there and couldn't here

First time hearing Beat Of My Drum, what a MESS.

Gutted this entered below Nadine, but then again I'm still gutted that Nadine wasn't top 20 :(

I'm gutted that something as horrific as 'Promise This' could be #1, and these two missed the top 20. :(

Nadine beat Nicola :cheer:

And Nicola wasn't released on a Monday. Nadine is far more talented anyway so I am happy.

But The Edge of Glory is very different! It's wonderfully 80s featuring the sax legend Clarence Clemons.. There are much much much more generic songs around.

Okay then. Run the World and Beat of My Drum are a LOT less generic than TEOG imo.

My head is actually hurting. At least there will finally be a song in the chart that I can say "*mutes radio*" to. ^_^

Discussion Thread Here

NO! This has really fallen now. Am I right in thinking that there's still no video?
Gaga probably killed any singles success this era by releasing 'Judas' so soon after Born This Way, and then 'Edge of Glory' the minute the video for 'Judas' came out. It probably didn't help that BTW and Judas got released midweek, too. Now Judas is dead (and flopped in the US) and unless the video for EOG boosts it back to the top ten, that'll probably just underperform, too.

Judas has eventually held up pretty well here, maybe because radio and TV stations over here aren't so conservative (with a small C).

Re Nicola Roberts' single - it's not a great song, and she comes across very shouty in the chorus, but it kinda works.
I don't really understand why people are calling BOMD a flop already, it still has weeks before it's officialy released and she hasn't done any promo yet! You can't compare it to Nadine who's song had been out for weeks and already did The Paul O'Grady Show and Daybreak.

This is really underperforming - serves Guetta right for pumping out an exact clone of Sexy Bitch I suppose.

Where Them Girls At. :puke: We've just heard Dirty Talk and The Edge of Glory which are exactly the same. :(

And I still can't get over how much this sounds like Sexy Chick. It's so lazy on David Guetta's part. We know he can produce good songs if he tries.

Okay then. Run the World and Beat of My Drum are a LOT less generic than TEOG imo.

TEOG is still quite similar to the GaGa songs (Poker Face, Bad Romance etc.) that you dismiss as sounding the same, so you're bound to think it's generic

Gutted this entered below Nadine, but then again I'm still gutted that Nadine wasn't top 20 :(

Agreed on the Nadine point. I love Insatiable, was listening to it earlier actually. Still love it as much as when it came out.

Beat of My drum has actually grown on me a quite a bit, but I still find the 'Dance to the beat of my drum!' part annoying though.

Oh dear, it is Sexy Bitch part 2 again. :puke2:
