Quite like 'Cinema', still prefer the Skrillex remix though!

I'm placing the blame entirely on Wiz Khalifa. He seems to turn everything he touches into flop in the UK :lol:

 

I also blame OA/OS. Promotion didn't start until it finally went T40. They really messed up the release of TIG, it could've been a T10 hit at least.

Exactly! If you want to try overhyped...try little boots or Jessie J. I'm not a blind sheep...i'm well aware gaga has taken some bumps this year but she still delivers 90 per cent of the time. Born this way is a fantastic album. Sorry if I rant on...but no one has played the popstar game aswell as gaga in years. She is the the perfect popstar and works her arse off...she gets far more bad press than she deserves. People need to focus on why someone as limited in talent as Robyn Fenty gets so much push from her label and such good A&R. It's one of the biggest mysteries in pop!

 

You can like her if you want, I just think she's very overrated tbh, and I think, maybe not now, but certainly in 2009, she was getting FAR more good press than she deserved (closest I've seen to a music artist ever getting deified by the public tbh).

 

I agree that Rihanna is less talented than Lady Gaga, but I think she sells more because of the songs she releases. That's why I like her so much. I don't care that she doesn't write her own lyrics, etc, I just love 90% of her songs, so I'm a Rihanna fan.

She's got a point though! You're being very rude to several members of the forum, for absolutely no reason. Whilst she shouldn't have used the language, she's hardly far from the truth.

The longevity for this has been crazy. Holding the video out for so long actually paid off. It is still higher than it was 10 weeks ago.

Out the top 20 :( I'm really thinking of purchasing their album now...

Gaga has a great team (as does every artist) but you can't manufacture her drive and work ethic. She's an old fashioned grafter and she deserves everything she has achieved. She co writes and co produces all her songs and is involved in all her styling, marketing, video treatments etc and she's a great businesswoman. There's girls here and there that have better technical skills than gaga and Rihanna (though she is much less talented than gaga) but they don't have their drive and ambition. The entertainment industry has never been purely about just musical talent you need lots of different skills and a ruthless drive to succeed.

Pokerface and Just dance are fantastic catchy pop singles regardless of her image. C'mon Eric even though you hate her now...get real. You must be able to hear that they are great singles.

 

Poker Face is probably my least favourite song from her. :(

 

My favourite Lady Gaga song is probably Alejandro, and I also like Chillin' and Video Phone. Those are the only three I have on my mp3 player anyway.

I think it depends on the definition of 'overhyped'. Overhyped by whom? Why has Lady GaGa had such a big impact on charts/people/culture etc. when she, just like others, releases good pop music? But with the right image, character and promotion you get it all. And that's overhype, musically she's not outstanding, then why did she have such a big impact?

 

Great longevity for Foster the People, I couldn't think it'd still be in the chart after all those weeks. :lol: Love the song and like their album still.
